About the Job

The jobholder is responsible to provide electrical engineering knowledge and skills to support the safe and reliable operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical equipment and system in Borouge respective plants to ensure Electrical equipment and systems of these plants are well engineered, comply with original equipment manufacturer's installation, maintenance and operating guide and relevant ADNOC/International engineering standards and are reliable to withstand extreme adverse operating conditions. This role includes; performing complex trouble shooting, root-cause failure analysis and design review to provide solutions for equipment repair; modifications to enhance equipment performance; studying equipment failure data to continually improve and implement the most appropriate maintenance strategy; advising on critical and complex jobs to ensure proper maintenance procedures are followed; and supervising the operation of fields power interconnection system in a reliable and safe manner to achieve efficient and economic performance and to meet the power electrical power distribution requirements.

Key Accountabilities

Electrical safety and Compliance

• Develop safe switching instructions, maintenance work instructions, procedures and check list to ensure operation and maintenance of Electrical equipment and system such as ( not limited to) Electrical Substations, Power Transformers, Large capacity motors, VFD, Switchgears/Switchboards, MCC, circuit breakers, UPS system, Emergency Diesel Generators, Auto Main failure panels, High speed automatic bus transfer system, Power factor improvement system, power distribution boards, and its associated Protection and relaying systems to ensure safe operation and maintenance of these systems as per relevant ADNOC and International standards and regulations

• Prepare Emergency response procedures for electrical power outages and arc flash incidents as applicable.

• Review Electrical protection settings to minimize the risk of equipment failures and validate that the protection systems are as per the approved power system studies.

• Propose improvements in business processes and procedures to reduce risk and improve overall safety standards of the electrical equipment and systems.

• Develop safety protocols, participate in incident investigations, process hazard analysis and safety inspections.

Maintenance Planning

• Develop and improve predictive, preventive maintenance plan and prepare major maintenance strategies based on the process criticality for all electrical equipment and system of respective asset, plant, area, to improve overall reliability and performance of all Electrical assets.

• Ensure through SAP and or FAR/FR, Bad Actors platform the history of all major corrective maintenance done on the electrical equipment and systems of the plant are maintained, use this information to prioritize maintenance and upgrade/modification decisions.

• Review requirements for materials, spare parts and obsolete items, advice on stock levels, MRP type and material descriptions, and provide suggestions for alternatives or interchangeability to enhance reliability standard of the plant. Monitor expenses on spare parts to ensure they align with departmental budget.

• Identify Turnaround (TA) job scope and lead major shutdown activities to ensure the timely and efficient execution of all the maintenance tasks and modification/upgrade projects related activities.

• Display variance in Maintenance cost, control and suggest improvements in cost control.

• Review preventive maintenance programs for HSECES equipment to ensure performance standard compliance & Minimum Assurance Task.

• Review Bill of Material in SAP for various equipment's for correctness and completeness.

• Identify Obsolete systems and spare parts, plan risk mitigation & Elimination actions as per End-of-Life process and propose design changes.

• Consult with Operation team for execution of the maintenance/repair/modification/upgrade plan that requires power outage partial or total and ensure safe restoration of the power once the job is over. Provide inputs for preparation of Maintenance and Capex (investment) budgets and ensure their approval by providing project scopes, project plan, estimated budget, and IRR calculations.

• Identify specific resources/services for the reliability improvement projects, support contracting and purchasing team to ensure these resources/services are available on schedule and within the allocated budget monitor variance to ensure the cost incurred in line with the approved/available budget.

Maintenance Execution

• Provide field support and advise other Engineers, Supervisors and Technicians on critical maintenance activities to ensure proper procedures are followed.

• Perform technical evaluation & inspection on plant equipment and spare parts to ensure it meets the predefined specifications.

• Prepare Work instructions, switchgear operating procedures and switching instructions to ensure all the maintenance activities are executed correctly and safely.

• Ensure performance standard compliance and quality records generation for completed Preventive Maintenance to achieve 100% HSE.

• Support profitability programs like Energy Optimization and flare reduction.

• Advise on issues experienced by execution team while taking the equipment shut down for maintenance or restoration after the maintenance

Maintenance Excellence

• Develop maintenance cost improvement programs like parts refurbishment, spare parts interchangeability and in country value.

• Identify statutory requirements coming as per the government regulation, collaborate with internal external agencies such as ADNOC, AGES, other disciplines, OEM, Suppliers, contractors, vendors, international standards /service providers to produce procedures, work instructions, checklist and lessons learnt and ensure they are followed by execution team during various maintenance activities on equipment and systems.

• Analyze strengths and weaknesses of current maintenance approaches and develop innovative solutions to enhance reliability standards of all equipment and systems.

• Develop marked up engineering drawings for maintenance implemented projects.

• Provide support to EPC for implementing Minor/Medium projects in respective plant and participate in project PSSR.

• Support companies' expansion plan and major projects, share Lesson learnt, participate in engineering reviews, FAT and SAT.

Reliability

• Implement reliability improvement plans and design changes in the respective plants.

• Develop reliability improvement programs for improving MTBF of equipment's .

• Lead reliability improvement projects in the respective plants during Turnaround and plant operation.

• Prepare Failure Analysis Report and recommend preventive actions for failed equipment's.

• Lead the root cause analysis for bad actors and recommend improvement actions to ensure Plant Availability & Reliability.

• Ensure all repair/modification and upgrade on all electrical equipment and system are done in accordance with international standards, relevant ADNOC policies/procedures and best practices.

• Coordinate with procurement team to ensure spare parts are purchased as per the specifications, conduct technical evaluation of the item purchased to ensure suitability of the purchased items, also ensure worker ship in all maintenance and repair work are up to the mark and in accordance with applicable standards.

• Coordinate with internal, external parties to conduct predictive maintenance activities such as Dissolved Gas Analysis, Partial Discharge measurement, Tan Delta and HI-Pot Testing, Infrared thermography, IR and PI testing, vibration analysis, circuit breaker and protection relay testing and power system studies and implement recommendations to ensure electrical equipment and system reliability and integrity.

• Follow up and supervise the installation and commissioning of the new electrical equipment and system.

• Ensure by regular testing, inspection, and proper maintenance plan that all electrical equipment and systems are maintained for long term reliability.

Troubleshooting

• Perform critical Testing and troubleshooting, on variety of electrical equipment and system such as (not limited to) High voltage/Extra High voltage Substation, Underground cable network GIS Switchgear, BCU, Power Transformers, OLTC/AVR, Large capacity motors, VFD, Switchgears/Switchboards, MCC, circuit breakers, UPS system, Emergency Diesel Generators, Auto Main failure panels, High speed automatic bus transfer system, Power factor improvement system, power distribution boards, and its associated Protection and relaying systems. Identify the root cause and implement effective solutions to resolve the issues permanently. Perform troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and Perform design review on installed electrical equipment and system which are having frequent failures to identify corrective actions, modifications or major repair that required, and implement modern design, technologies as required.

Minimum Requirements

• University degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline

• Fluency in English Language; written and oral Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as an Electrical Engineer.

• Experience in the Oil & Gas or petrochemical Industry is preferred.

• Knowledge of one ERP software SAP, engineering software for ABB/Siemens/ Beckwith/ Schneider/AREVA/ Protection relays such as PCM 600, Easergy Studio, Digsi 5, and ABB drive configuration software such as drive tools are an added advantage.

• Troubleshooting & Failure Analysis techniques, knowledge of international standards for electrical equipment or systems and CMMS

• Experience in vibration analysis / machinery diagnostics technique and tools are an advantage.

• Knowledge of international standards for electrical equipment/systems and CMMS.

• Hands on the maintenance and operation of electro-equipment and high voltage electrical apparatus.
