Position Purpose

Based in Adelaide and reporting to the Head of Development we are seeking an entrepreneurial self starter with greenfield development experience to join our growing Renewable Hydrogen development team.

You will continue to develop our pipeline of large scale renewable energy projects, with a strong focus on wind and solar energy multi-energy projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Site identification and selection research for new large scale renewable energy projects;
  • Assist with land acquisition and negotiations with landowners, including discussions on legal contracts;
  • Working within the scope of environmental and planning legislation;
  • Implementing risk mitigation strategies on greenfield projects;
  • Identifying existing investment opportunities to quickly grow and commercialise our portfolio, whilst implementing de-risk protocols to drive positive economic outcomes;
  • Implementing land access strategies, in line with State Government Land Access requirements, including negotiations for leasing, restricted land access arrangements and opportunities for preliminary activities;
  • GIS Mapping to support site selection and the Development Team;
  • Continuing to develop existing strong stakeholder relationships with State Governments, planning authorities, environmental groups and external consultants for surveys and reports etc;
  • Guiding the planning and environmental risk assessments;
  • Preparing and submitting Environmental Impact Statements, planning applications etc;
  • Working with the Grid & Connection team on connection application and connection agreement processes and negotiations;
  • Proactively dealing with and solving issues; and
  • Ad hoc duties as required.

Required Skills & Competencies

Qualifications

  • Degree in Planning, Science, Engineering or Environmental discipline or a related subject;

Skills and experience

  • Experience in developing Wind and PV solar farms, with proven ability to deliver project pipeline;
  • Sound understanding of planning and environmental impact assessment requirements nationally;

  • 5 years project development management experience in the energy sector in Australia;

  • Up to date knowledge of market trends and the emerging renewable energy sector;
  • Mapping / G.I.S experience essential;
  • Strong Project Management skills and a highly organised approach to work;
  • High level negotiation skills;
  • Strong communication skills;
  • Current Drivers Licence; and
  • Able to travel nationally as required.
