What are you going to do

As an Environmental Advisor Biosecurity and Ecology, you will provide specialist advice, assurance of vegetation management contracts, and manage multiple stakeholder relationships. You will be the technical focal point for biosecurity and land management and support environmental efforts in soils, reinstatement, and rehabilitation.

Responsibilities - To include but are not limited too:

  • Serve as the focal point for biosecurity and land management, ensuring continued land access and production.
  • Provide technical advice for landholder engagements, regulators, and industry working groups.
  • Implement and coordinate environmental management systems for biosecurity, minimizing impacts and costs.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Support the delivery and monitoring of adaptive land management measures.
  • Collaborate with Asset Managers and contract holders.
  • Provide administrative and technical support for soil chemistry, erosion, and sediment control (ESC).


Essential skills and knowledge

  • Degree in environmental science, environmental management, or a related field.
  • Experience in biosecurity, field ecology, and land/natural resource management within the Brigalow Belt region.
  • Experience dealing with landholders/regulators and implementing environmental management plans in the oil and gas industry or broader resource sector.
  • Field experience in ESC and rehabilitating construction sites with dispersive soils (highly regarded).
  • Experience in contract/contractor management, budgeting, forecasting, and scheduling work.
  • Knowledge of Queensland and Commonwealth environmental legislation and policies regarding biosecurity, vegetation, and fauna management.
  • Commercial Operator Agricultural Chemical Distribution Control License (AHCPMG301, AHCCHM303, AHCCHM304).
  • Competency in cleaning and inspecting vehicles used for resource activities during survey, construction and operation (AHCBIO201).
  • Competency in inspecting source and stored materials for Biosecurity Declaration (AHCPMG301).
  • Strong commitment to safety and personal accountability.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to inspire change and proactively connect stakeholders.
  • Must have full working rights in Australia and be located in South East QLD or Chinchilla.
