What are you going to do

Technical Expertise:

  • To be responsible for the content and quality of all work within the Instrument and Control discipline
  • Organize and assist in technical reviews and audits
  • Review the relevant instrument and control documents with reference to Operations Information list
  • Provide technical support to Operations and Maintenance to operate the plant in a safe and optimal manner
  • Support instrument and control equipment root cause analyses and/or 5-Why reviews.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of instrumentation standards that will maximize reliability, design andmaintenance efficiency, and minimize required spare parts inventory.
  • Collaborate with Operations to improve existing process operations and reliability
  • Prepare technical memorandums and reports
  • Review and endorse risk assessments associated with field execution activities ensuring adequate controls are in place to maintain Asset Integrity
  • Support ongoing Alarm management activities and alarm rationalization.


Compliance:

  • Ensure that the plant technical integrity is protected by managing instrumentation and control equipment in line with the commitments made as part of the safety case performance standards and design assumptions.
  • Correct equipment is specified as part of the design
  • Equipment is operated within performance standards
  • Support review of plant changes associated with instrumentation and control equipment2/2
  • Prepare ICSS control bulletins to support design changes to facilities
  • Drawings are maintained and are up to date


Planning:

  • Provide input into the maintenance planning process - 120 day, 45 day, and 14-day planning cycles.
  • Provide input into major facility shutdown scope gathering and scope challenge sessions.
  • Support maintenance campaign planning and scheduling.


Risk Management:

  • Fully familiar with key risks associated with onshore operation including HSE, Business, and reputational related risks and ensure associated mitigating actions are identified and managed.
  • Able to identify and assess engineering risk.


Human Resources Management:

  • Maintain a strong team-based focus, assisting in peer checks and mentoring junior instrument and control engineers.
  • Assist in the recruitment process of Instrument and Control engineers

  • Actively supports the Company’s commitment to safety and its “Core Values.”
  • Ensure that Safety is reinforced as the highest priority consideration in conducting plant operations through an emphasis on Process Safety not losing sight of Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Conduct all activities in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures. At all times, ensure the welfare of personnel and the protection of our assets and the environment.


Essential skills and knowledge

  • Australian Full working rights
  • Engineering Degree in either Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering
  • TUV or Equivalent Functional Safety Engineer
  • Technical professional within discipline with project and operations experience
  • Able to organize and/or carry out hands-on technical evaluations in own sphere.
  • Able to coordinate projects and activities and foster team awareness.
  • Able to manage intercultural group sensitivities.
  • Able to communicate with internal and external bodies on technical issues
  • Strong planning, organization, and time management skills
  • Highly motivated
  • Verifiable performance and delivery in positions of technical authority
  • Experience with the development of and commitment to, engineering systems, procedures and quality assurance
  • Experience working within a controlled change management culture to ensure that any changes are fully assessed and approved
