What are you going to do

  • Technician I (Instrument):
  • Carries out faultfinding, repair, installation, maintenance, modification, and overhaul work on a range of Process Control/Safety Instrumentation System in any Oil & Gas processing plant and

    Storage & Loading facilities.
  • Carries out skilled fault-finding, repair, maintenance, installation, testing, calibration, loop checking, overhauls on a range of pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, electronic control and safety instrumentation systems, process

    analyzers, DCS, ESD, F&G, SCADA, PLC, Rotating Equipment controls, vibration monitoring system, Loading

    arms controls, Tank gauging and inventory management system, custody meters, Flare ignition controls & flame

    monitoring and various flare flow meters in the oil and gas industry.
  • Shall be responsible for obtaining or issuing appropriate Hot or Cold Work Permits and other Certificates as

    necessary.
  • Maintenance of Plant fire &gas detection and protection systems such as flammable & toxic gas sensors, Tank

    Rim-seal fire detection & protection systems, plant deluge & foam systems, Firewater pump controls, fire alarm systems.
  • To complete records of work performed and reports details of installation, workshop overhaul and repair,

    preventative maintenance, and fault-finding/repair work carried out to Senior Technician.
  • To serve on standby duty to attend to urgent instrument problems outside working hours.
  • Test equipment calibration and maintenance, exercising good housekeeping in all activities and observing all

    fire and safety precautions.
  • Fully conversant with Permit to work system & shall have Level 1/2 authorization.
  • Technician I (Mechanical, Mechanical-RE):
  • Carries Participates in the mechanical maintenance and repair of rotating and stationary equipment within the NGL, Storage and Loading facilities and jetty, cooling water and fire systems, fresh water and desalination units, road tanker loading facilities, Naphtha storage and loading system.
  • Obtains 'Permit to Work'. Organizes requisite tools and consumables / spare parts as required to carry out work and proceeds to job site.
  • Carries out planned preventive maintenance checks on operational equipment.
  • Carries out planned routine maintenance of plant and equipment according to schedules derived from manufacturer's recommendations.
  • Carries out corrective maintenance and repairs, indicated by regular predictive maintenance checks or failures of equipment and systems.
  • Rebuild equipment including replacement of defective components or repairing/reconditioning as appropriate.
  • Ensures clearances and tolerances are within acceptable limits using a wide range of precision

    instruments and carries out the reinstallation and testing of equipment through various stages.
  • Participates in annual shutdown of major equipment turnarounds/repairs of specific equipment

    items.
  • Carry out overhauls on small and medium size equipment and rotating machinery. Carries out similar or related duties in accordance with Safety and Fire regulations, permit to work procedures, observing good housekeeping and work practices on site and in the workshop and standing by with senior technicians during start-up and shutdown of critical equipment.
  • Required to qualify to the COMPANY’s Permit to work (PTW) requirements. Also, should be able to prepare a job hazard Analysis (JHA) Report to obtain work permits.


Essential skills and knowledge

  • Technician I (Instrument):
  • Completion of Secondary (12 years) education, followed by Higher National Certificate or equivalent. In addition, relevant short courses in safety.
  • Fair knowledge of computers and networking.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ Relevant Maintenance Experience in Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry.
  • Experience in the installation, maintenance and overhaul of pneumatic, electrical, and electronic process control and safety instrumentation within a hydrocarbon/oil refinery or gas processing plant.
  • Technician I (Mechanical, Mechanical-RE):
  • Completion of Secondary (12 years) education, followed by 3 years formal course in mechanical craft and leading to possession of a registered qualification (OND or equivalent).
  • 6 years mechanical crafts and maintenance experience of which minimum of 4 years shall be in an oil or gas processing plant.
  • High level and knowledge of spoken and written English equivalent to level 4 and must be able to pass level 1 and level 2 PTW.
  • Shall be familiar with relevant piping, equipment specifications and standards and should be able to prepare various work reports and records.
  • Shall have adequate exposure /awareness in firefighting techniques and plant maintenance safety requirement.
  • Shall be computer literate and preferably familiar with computer-based maintenance management system.
  • Shall demonstrate rotating equipment alignment skills and will be performance tested at the COMPANY site for compliance.
