JOB DESCRIPTION

Wood is currently seeking expressions of interest for a Senior Procurement Specialist to join our team in Gladstone, Queensland.



Our Supply Chain team support several projects and this role is critical in ensuring that all procurement services are managed effectively for our global clients. Working closely with Project Managers and the Construction teams, you will be a key advisor for all supply chain procurement matters on site.

RESPONSIBILITIES

You will take on a range of responsibilities including:

  • Selection and Evaluation of Suitable Suppliers prior to Tendering
  • Issue of RFQ Tender Documents to Suppliers
  • Preparation of Commercial Bid Evaluations
  • Assume the Role of Focal Point for all Bid Clarifications
  • Negotiation of all Commercial issues with Successful Suppliers
  • Collation of Commercial and Technical Evaluations and Preparation of Joint Recommendations
  • Selection of Terms and Conditions of Purchase
  • Authorisation and Issue of Purchase Orders to Approved Suppliers
  • In conjunction with Expediter develop a Field Expediting Strategy for "High Risk" Materials and Equipment
  • Attending Project Progress Meetings
  • Agree schedule / timetable for co-ordination of Field Expediting Activities
  • Arranging Stage Payments in line with Agreed Purchase Order Milestones
  • Clearance of any Blocked Invoices
  • Timely Close Out of Purchase Orders
  • Maintain an Auditable File of all relevant Purchasing Documents for each Purchase Order
  • Accurate reporting on project reports e.g., Procurement Status Report, Expediting Report


QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 5 years of procurement experience in industrial construction projects (mining or oil & gas) for an engineering or construction company
  • An ability to listen and identify key issues and to communicate complex information clearly
  • Well-developed cross-cultural communication skills
  • Understanding of project accounting reporting requirements and variance analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to work with limited supervision to set up processes and monitor own work achievements against agreed objectives
  • Advanced ERP (Oracle/SAP) system skills (Preferred)
  • Materials Management System Experience (Preferably Aveva ERM)
  • High level of commercial and contractual awareness, Experience with EPC contract delivery models (Advantage)
  • Strong organisational and planning skills
  • Able to work in remote locations without direct supervision
