The Offshore Structures Team is part of the wider Risk Advisory Department here at DNV. We work across a variety of offshore projects spanning the energy spectrum, with a portfolio of work that includes both renewable and traditional Oil & Gas assets.

We just love finding innovative solutions to our industry's most challenging problems. Our work is principally linear and non-linear structural analysis of both bottom fixed and floating structures, including strength, fatigue, impact, extreme wave analysis, and detailed FEA of components.

Supporting with the delivery of our customer projects, the Team Lead will be given real responsibility to manage and deliver global projects, whilst you continue to develop your skills, knowledge and understanding of the Energy industry.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Head of Section, the main responsibility of the Team Lead will be to provide leadership to their team and to support the delivery of technical work utilising their own proven technical experience. This will involve coaching, developing, retaining, and recruiting staff, and ensuring that they are motivated and engaged; and that the team is optimally utilised in meeting its operational targets and objectives. This will be achieved, in part, by ensuring the team has the right capabilities and are striving for a high performing collaborative culture which provides individuals with an exceptional employee experience. Furthermore, the Team Lead will support the management of individual performance, identifying and providing opportunities for individual development, through the delivery of a wide variety of technical safety projects and relevant training.

The Team Lead will ensure that business development and execution of projects are appropriately resourced with the right individuals, completed within the required timelines and budgets and to the required quality standards to meet customer requirements. The Team Lead will also engage closely with our customers and collaborate with colleagues across DNV, identifying innovation opportunities and emerging technologies to lead the transition of the energy industry towards net zero.

Qualifications

Technical / Professional Expertise requirements:
  • Previous experience of structural analysis of offshore structures within the technical advisory sector including; managing technical projects from lead stage through to final delivery and closeout, acting as key customer contact and providing technical leadership.
  • Provides technical oversight and support to less experienced staff and demonstrates a passion for developing people.
  • Supports and follows-up the financial performance of the unit to ensure long term sustainable operations.
  • Proven leadership skills to engage, develop and motivate employees, and promotes a solutions-orientated mindset.
  • Strong prioritisation skills with an ability to juggle and manage conflicting work priorities to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with a proven ability to interact, influence and build key internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong commercial awareness with good understanding of the rapidly changing energy market, drivers and challenges (e.g. market foresight, regulators, buyers, competitors etc.), and proven business development ability in the area.
  • Respects and has good understanding of cultural diversity and will promote; equality, equity and inclusion.
