Here's what you'll be doing

Base location - London (Hybrid role)

Salary - £49,995-£63,832 plus excellent company benefits

Due to growth of the team, new direction and ambition we are looking for experienced PR and Media Consultants to deepen and expand our skills and capabilities.

In this role you will be working with the wider External Affairs directorate to deliver ongoing engaging PR and content which helps drive forward E.ON in UK's brands and purpose and position the company positively in the eyes of customers, media and key stakeholders (including colleagues). Identifying and managing issues so as to protect and advance E.ON in the UK's reputation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with PR and Content Managers to develop and execute an aggressively proactive content calendar for earned channels. This includes ideation, creation, implementation, and analysis of content, ensuring all content supports broader brand, strategic, commercial, and organisational objectives.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and project owners to stay informed of key activities and support their objectives with relevant content.
  • Monitor and analyse content performance, sharing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with teams across the business to ensure consistency in messaging and activities, maximising reach and return on investment (ROI).
  • Manage PR and customer issues received via media, serving as a primary contact and spokesperson for national and regional media.
  • Handle media calls, brief spokespeople and respond to reactive media queries promptly.
  • Identify and prepare key spokespeople, including Board members, for media interviews, facilitating media training as necessary.
  • Act as a company spokesperson and respond to reactive media queries.Provide a customer-centric perspective, highlighting any activities or issues that may impact E.ON's reputation.
  • Participate in the 24/7 out-of-hours on-call rota (typically one week in seven).


What we need from you

  • Strong team collaboration skills.
  • Extensive PR/communications/content experience, including creative content development, delivery, analysis, media awareness, strategic planning, and execution.
  • Proactive and creative approach to content creation, problem-solving, and reporting, supported by strong strategic and commercial thinking.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with great attention to detail and the ability to convey complex information in an engaging manner.
  • Proficient in media relations, including crisis management and communications.
  • Understanding of the energy market and industry dynamics, along with customer insights.
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills, empathetic towards internal and external stakeholders, with strong influencing abilities and experience interacting with colleagues at all levels.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines under pressure and manage change diplomatically.
  • Competent in assessing risks and making informed judgments.
  • Highly organized, with strong planning and project management skills.
  • Experience in budget management.
