Essential skills and knowledge
- Enhance processes within technical and operational departments.
- Prepare and deliver development and production schedules.
- Communicate plans and equipment interactions to the operations team.
- Collaborate with stakeholders on mine plan inputs and reviews on project plans for civil, environmental and mining.
- Haulage modelling and optimisation.
- Produce mine designs for drill & blast as well as the mobile fleet of excavators, draglines, dozers and trucks.
- Monitor and evaluate mining operations, recommending improvements.
- Prepare reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.
Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related field.
- At least 2 - 3 years proven experience in mine planning and operations.
- Proficiency in software and tools such as Deswik, Vulcan, Spry, Surpac etc.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills being able to influence site leadership.
- Knowledge of current legislative and environmental regulations.
- Commitment to safety and proactive risk management.
