JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for joining two pieces of metal together using specialized equipment.



PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols.
  • Determine the most appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
  • Set up components for welding according to specifications.
  • Set up equipment and apply appropriate welding techniques to produce quality welds.
  • Assemble parts by bolting and riveting.
  • Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
  • Inspect and test welds to determine whether the weld is of suitable quality for its intended application.
  • Ensure all work performed is in a quality minded, tidy & accurate manner.
  • Adhere to all Company policies.
  • Follow all applicable company and corporate policies, guiding principles, procedures, and programs, including but not limited to quality, health, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Attend work per work schedule.
  • Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (preferred)
  • Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, or related welding experience and/or training; or equivalent education and experience.
  • 2-4 years of experience
  • Basic reading, writing and math skills (required)
  • Proficiency in TIG and MIG welding
  • Manufacturing or experience (preferred)
  • Knowledge of tools, equipment, and application techniques common to this trade
  • Must be able to lift to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to pass pulmonary Function and Respiratory Function Tests
  • Must be able to pass a weld test
  • Must be able to use and read welding measuring devices to include but not limited to squares, levels, and tape measures.
  • Must be able to work under limited supervision
  • Must possess good communication skills
  • Attention to details
