Within the French Finance department and reporting to AFMED Region Senior Finance Manager, you are responsible for the accuracy of French entities accounts and for optimising their financial performance. The Finance Manager oversees accounting operations, produces accurate and meaningful reports on financial performance/position and prospects, and improves current practices to maximise efficiency.

The Finance Manager is accountable for planning, coordinating and delivering all finance activities across all projects and countries within scope.

Generic Key Responsibilities & Activities:
  • Provides strategic and financial guidance to ensure the financial objectives are met or exceeded.
  • Enforces all relevant policies and procedures to ensure the sound financial management and control in the scope.
  • Ensures the efficient, timely, accurate, cost-effective management and delivery of the Finance function's activities.
  • Plans, organises, manages, and continuously improves processes in accordance with Subsea 7 global ways of working.
  • Develops a constructive and professional relationship with all stakeholders.
  • Facilitates the execution of the Business Unit budget and plan by setting clear and realistic objectives for direct reports.
  • Provides strategic direction, leadership, supervision and mentoring to the finance team.
  • Supports the professional and career development of the finance team within the Business Unit.


Role Specific Responsibilities & Activities:
  • Oversees the statutory and tax filings in accordance with IFRS and local GAAP.
  • Provides overview to the monthly financial reports and insightful analysis on performance and position.
  • Works with the Group Tax to minimise exposure and ensure local compliance requirements are met.
  • Ensure optimum cash generation and consumption and working capital in coordination with Group Treasury.
  • Responsible for financial controls and compliance for countries in scope.

Monthly controls (management scope):
  • Supervision of GPC East France/UK cost control tasks; present final report with variance analyses within the defined timeline.

Quarterly accounting control (4 France legal entities including one with around 800 employees):
  • Analysis of entity transfer pricing profit centres (including manual and automatic postings).
  • Analysis of non-GPC East Region P&L items impacting French entities (in coordination with the relevant cost controllers in charge of those scopes).
  • Production of a Full Analytical review of entity P&L.
  • Monitoring of tax payments to the French authorities.
  • Legal Entity Forecast journals preparation: markup and overhead costs allocation.
  • Invoicing of entity overhead costs to project entities.

Annual analysis:
  • Analysis of statutory accounts on interim (30 June) and annual (31 December) closings.
  • Annual budget process and definition of personnel hourly rates.
  • Preparation of the "Comptes Prévisionnels" based on the Legal Entity forecast, preparation of the presentation to the worker council.
  • Control of French tax computation and tax returns (with the support of tax experts for specific
    questions).

Management
The role involves the direct management of 1 Accounting Manager, 4 accountants, 3 Cost Controllers.

Skills required:
  • Top level Master's degree.
  • Knowledge of French taxes, French local GAAP and IFRS accounting standards.
  • 10 years work experience in Finance, in an international environment.
  • Excellent organization and communication skills.
  • Experience as team leader/ manager.
  • Both analytical and synthesis mindset.
  • Ability to translate numbers into words.
  • Pack office.
  • Knowledge of SAP/BFC is a plus.
  • Fluent English and French.
