Vestas Technology & Operations (VTO) is where new product ideas are developed, matured, improved, and tested. Within VTO, you'll find our department, Blade Bearing, as part of Nacelles R&D.
The Nacelles R&D is a part of Aerodynamics & Mechanical and has sites in Denmark, Portugal & India.
Blade Bearing operates as a crucial Sub-Module within the Hub Module, tasked with the end-to-end design of blade bearings for new turbines. From initial drafting to serial production rollout, our responsibilities encompass design estimation, supplier collaboration, bearing inspection and testing, ensuring structural integrity, and meeting cost-quality standards. Moreover, we are actively involved in turbine upgrades, servicing, and conducting failure mode analyses. Responsibilities
The role is to facilitate and support technical development with key suppliers, including conducting and participating in detailed workshops to optimize the value chain and design. Ensure Vestas has the best suppliers and partnerships in the industry, continuously building a solid pipeline of improvements. Serve as the primary communication link, both internally and externally, for all supplier relations. Connect suppliers across sub-modules and ensure thorough documentation and qualification work within projects.
Specific responsibilities include:
  • Lead the development and improvement efforts with suppliers, focusing on cost reductions and design changes in alignment with Configuration Module Leads
  • Ensure all qualification documentation, testing, and inspection work is completed
  • Provide guidance and advice to suppliers, including conducting feasibility studies on new design work from Configuration Module Leads. Manage supplier non-conformities and deviation requests
  • Collaborate closely with value chain stakeholders and maintain relationships effectively
  • Oversee Problem Report and Change Request governance
  • Drive the mapping and development of suppliers' technical competencies. Contribute to and implement the supplier roadmap strategy. Support the Supplier Account Plan
  • Act as a leading participant in cross-functional value chain and operational meetings
  • Facilitate and execute actions derived from workshops


Qualifications
We are seeking an ideal candidate with the following qualifications:
  • Master's or bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field and min. 03 years of relevant experience. Background in tribology or material engineering (beneficial)
  • Proven work experience as a design or development engineer, technical sales professional, or technical key account manager, preferably in a large organization
  • Good understanding of machine components and hands-on technical and design experience
  • Knowledge of System Engineering and DFMEA
  • Experience in supplier development
  • Knowledge of structural computation tools such as ANSYS or similar software. Programming skills, preferably in MATLAB or Python
  • Experience with CAD software
