Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to adapt and implement the sales support strategy for the designated area, in line with the global support strategy. Each day, you will lead, develop, and coach a team of Application Engineers and oversee them to deliver the most technically appropriate and cost-effective solutions to support the customer processes. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting sales development in a country/region through defining and developing the Application team and application sales strategy. The work model for the role is: remote This role is contributing to the Electrification Smart Buildings division in North America. You will be mainly accountable for: • Collaborating with consultant engineer, end user and EPC customers to define electrical project needs, supply design assistance, product selection, value engineering, budgeting & provide education on ABB solutions to gain acceptance of the same into project specifications. • Reviewing and evaluating project specifications and end-user customer requirements to provide electrical solutions including one-line electrical diagrams, schematic diagrams, lay-out & equipment drawings, equipment specifications and project budget pricing for critical power applications. • Being the local product expert in the following products and applications: UPS/battery systems, power conditioning, power distribution switchgear, transfer switch and arc flash mitigation. • Possessing a strong blend of critical power systems design capability and communication skills. Must be able to communicate complex concepts to a wide audience base including engineers, account managers, contractors and channel partners.

Qualifications for the role

  • B.S. degree in engineering; preferably electrical with a minimum of six (6) years of experience in the electrical distribution industry or a master's degree with four (4) years of experience in the same.
  • PE certification is a plus.
  • Previous field, factory or design engineering experience in electrical power systems at data center, hospital or industrial facilities.
  • Knowledge of industry codes and standards; ANSI, IEEE, NEC, NEMA, UL/CSA.
  • 25% travel
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
