This position reports to

Sales Support Manager

Your role and responsibilities

Supports the assigned Sales organization (Process Automation) and customers during the proposal process by preparing technical descriptions of the products and technology, determining costs, preparing final documentation, and serving as a key technical resource in the assigned area. Your responsibilities Offers technical advice and solutions on inquiries from customers/channels/Sales Specialists about ABB products/systems/applications. Performs analytic and diagnostic studies to determine the optimal technical solution to meet customer needs and address complex inquiries. Prepares and delivers technical presentations and demonstrations for both internal staff and customers on complex product issues. Shares best practices and lessons learned. Prepares and checks technical articles for publication. Develops and maintains new sales opportunities and resolves specific customer problems. Ensures the achievement of budget goals, including volume targets and profitable growth, across all assigned product groups and in the respective countries. Ensures achievement of targets on orders, Net Price Variance (NPV), and Net Promoter Score (NPS). Supports the Sales organization/customers in determining the most technically appropriate and cost-effective solutions and in the preparation of demanding offers. Defines cost for the proposed solution and communicates to the Sales organization. Provides technical support to the Sales team during technical meetings, product presentations, and negotiations with customers and offers product/ solution/service-related training. Prepares/supports the preparation of technical/commercial offers based on customer specification requirements, business unit, and Sales organization directives. Ensures technical and financial aspects of offers, including price and trading conditions, are appropriate. Provides information for the risk review process in accordance with ABB policy and participates in the risk review assessment as required. Analyzes customer needs and competitor offers by leveraging general market information and insights provided by the Sales organization. Analyzes lost proposals, identifies the potential cause, and recommends future actions in cooperation with the Sales/ business unit to achieve improved results.

Qualifications for the role

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering is preferable.
  • Mandatory experience in budgeting solutions that comprise equipment and automation services.
  • Availability for occasional travel is a requirement.
  • Mandatory proficiency in automation and control systems for mining, metallurgical and pulp & paper industries.
  • Preferred experience with ABB automation products (800xa, AC450, Compact).
  • Advanced proficiency in English is essential
