An excellent opportunity as arisen for anexperienced Director of Income Generation to join our team at Halton HavenHospice.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in fundraising or sales, buildingstrategic partnerships, and driving innovation in income generation. As a keyplayer in our organisation, you will lead a dedicated team and workcollaboratively to ensure the sustainability of the Hospice.

The Hospice is a healthcare charity that delivers vital care to people suffering from life limiting illnesses across Halton, with staff who work in medical, nursing and care roles together with those who work with our income generation service that supports our fundraising.We employ around 60 staff.

Role Summary

To help the Hospice meet its strategic objectives by ensuring targets are developed and met for income generation, and leading a team which understands this critical focus and fulfils targets successfully.

The role holder will provide a creative and dynamic focus to develop a range of income generation initiatives beyond the scope of existing fundraising activity.

Building and utilizing networks and developing long term relationships with high net-worth individuals and forging new business opportunities will be integral to the role.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • To integrate thinking and plans related to income generation within the structure of the charity and present regular process reports to the Executive Team, Finance and Fundraising sub committees and Board of Trustees

  • To adopt a commercial focus which will build income by establishing new and sustainable fundraising strands via innovation and initiative.

  • Build the organisational brand and capitalise on the website by providing a specific focus on income generation.

  • Build a strong external profile for the role and the organisation.

  • Support engagement opportunities in our community designed to generate income and enhance the profile and standing of the organisation,

  • Provide leadership, motivation and vision to the fundraising team and drive forward income generation opportunities across direct response, corporate partnerships, events, grant making, gift and legacy promotion activities.

  • Ensure the retail team is performing efficiently and maximising income across the borough, representing the organisation positively at all times.

  • Support and encourage fundraising and the retail team to work with PR and Marketing and engage in networking opportunities in the borough.

Management

  • To promote and develop teamwork within the Hospice.

  • To chair regular team meetings, promoting clear dissemination of information and consultation with colleagues, fostering good communication and promoting a team which feels included and supported.

  • All Line Management responsibilities which will be communicated during induction and probation including interviewing, training, coaching, mentoring, performance management, career conversations, absence reviews and welfare meetings (this list is not exhaustive)

Policies and Procedures

Understand and comply with the policies and practices of Halton Haven Hospice.

Undertaking of policy development and review in line with set schedule of work

Attend statutory training in accordance with Halton Haven Hospice requirements.

Education and Training
  • Undertake any training that may be necessary to completely carry out the post and to attend all mandatory training.

  • Actively participate in the personal development and education of self and team.

  • Facilitate an environment, which will be conclusive to learning.

  • Undergo career conversations in line with Hospice policy and procedure.

  • Maintain own personal and professional development.

Communication and Working Relationships

To report all mishaps/accidents/incidents, infection control concerns or Health and Safety issues, in accordance with Hospice policy and procedure, to the person in charge, as soon as practicable.

To report any equipment service needs, shortages and/or electrical faults to the Facilities Manager (or maintenance staff) as and when they occur.

To respect the confidential nature of all patient information.

Ensure a warm welcome to all visitors to the Hospice demonstrating tact, empathy and awareness of social and cultural differences when communicating with patients, relatives, visitors and other professionals.

Ensure all communication is recorded and disseminated as appropriate.

General
  • To act responsibly at all times ensuring that any actions do not bring the Hospice into disrepute.

  • To contribute to the team working and efficient functioning of the Hospice.

  • To ensure compliance with the hospice policies and procedures and have regard for the employees obligations under the Health and Safety at Work act 1974.

  • To attend Fire Safety Training as required and demonstrate awareness of the correct procedure to be undertaken in the event of a fire.

  • Work within the Hospice Policies and Procedures at all times.

  • Maintain security required for safety of patients, staff and the general public.

  • Follow Hospice procedures for managing positive Infection Control and Health and Safety practices.

  • Ensure the effective use of Hospice resources.

  • Attend and participate in meetings and events as may be reasonably required by the Hospice.
