Industrial Waste Water Chemist This role focuses on the effective management and treatment of industrial wastewater. As an Industrial Wastewater Chemist, you will play a key role in ensuring that the treatment processes are optimised, efficient, and compliant with customer needs and policies. This position involves hands-on testing, analysis, and problem-solving to maintain high standards of wastewater treatment.

Role Overview: The Industrial Wastewater Chemist will be responsible for performing chemical analyses, recommending improvements, and ensuring that all processes adhere to safety and operational guidelines. The role requires a strong background in chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related field, with a focus on practical application in an industrial setting.

The successful candidate will be proactive, capable of independent problem-solving, and committed to maintaining high standards in wastewater treatment.
Conduct comprehensive assessments of water systems to identify potential risks and areas for improvement.
Conduct jar testing, recommend treatment adjustments, and report on treatment performance.
Perform COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) analyses.
Identify opportunities for system upgrades, including chemical dosing equipment and analytical services.
Define and deliver service plans in accordance with client requirements.
Address and resolve issues encountered during treatment processes.
Engage in safe chemical delivery and storage practices.
Calibrate equipment, both personal and onsite, and generate necessary certificates.
Operate dosing pumps and adjust dosing rates based on test outcomes.
Diagnose and resolve onsite issues, escalating when necessary.

Experience & Skills Required
Proven experience in water treatment or a related field, with a strong understanding of water chemistry and treatment processes.
Background in chemical analysis or service engineering.
Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biological Sciences, or equivalent.
Valid UK driving licence.
Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
