Job Summary:
The Project Manager in Water/Wastewater Facilities will have the opportunity to apply and grow technically in the areas of water/wastewater treatment and conveyance, project management and leadership. Project Manager must be able to lead a multidiscipline design and construction team; provide expertise to both internal and external clients on water/wastewater systems; treatment strategies and evaluation; modeling; design; ensure safe practices and environmental awareness; interpret and communicate information, ideas and instructions clearly, accurately and persuasively both verbally and in writing.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage projects of small or moderate size and scope; help determine project feasibility; responsible for assuring quality, cost effectiveness and timeliness of assigned projects; identify problems and related technical issues; identify technical approach for solving problems and meeting customer/client needs.
- Provide engineering design and preparation of construction drawings and specifications for moderate to complex engineering projects.
- Procure plan approval from regulatory agencies.
- Procure permits for both water and wastewater facilities.
- Engineer consultant for MUDs.
- Conduct project meetings.
- Plan and perform tasks of larger scope and lead specific tasks within the project scope; assemble team members author/co-author reports, proposals, and presentations.
- Interact in a collaborative manner with other team members to accomplish organizational goals; provide ideas to improve organizational efficiency.
- Maintain external relationships to identify and develop new opportunities for services and ways to assist client needs.
- Stay abreast of new technologies, new regulations and changing market conditions that can impact the services provided and the need of the clients.
- Mentor assigned staff in the development of technical, project, and business development skills.
- Collaborate with design team to establish scope of work, budget and design direction for projects; maintain design and construction schedules and budgets.
- Provide project status updates throughout design and construction.
- Assist with development of company design standards by reviewing construction documents via the design review process to ensure that adopted standards of design are adhered to.
- Serve on committees as requested.

- Engineering and Technology - Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of company services. (Civil 3D, H2O Net)

- Complex Problem Solving - Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.

Work Environment:
- This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
- The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the construction areas, which may require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields, safety boots and mandatory hearing protection, etc.
Education, Certification and Experience:
- 7+ years related experience.
- Working knowledge of relevant TCEQ rules and state regulations, understanding of MUDs rules and MUD facilities are preferred.
- Rehabilitation of water/wastewater facilities project experience.
- Understanding or Water Models and software similar to H20 Net.
- Industrial, city or county municipal facility project experience is a plus.
- Rehabilitation of water/wastewater facilities project experience.
- Large WWTP (1-100 MGD) project experience is a plus.
- Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Engineering or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Required Certifications, Registrations or Licensure:PE license required.
- Valid TX Driver's License and ability to operate a motor vehicle may be required.
Physical Requirements:

- This is largely a sedentary role. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate both orally and in writing.
- The employee is occasionally required to move about the office to utilize office productivity machinery, such as photocopier, scanner, computers, fax machines, etc. as well as maneuver safely through construction sites.
- May require the ability to position his or herself to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend.
- The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
