About Job
- Provide technical assurance of CIVIL designs through appropriate application of international, National technical standards and specifications, and review of design deliverables and activities.
- Reviewing and preparing engineering deliverables ranging from engineering study deliverables ITPs, Material Requisition, Technical Bid Evaluations, etc.
- Develop strategies/conceptual designs during early project phases
- Participate in engineering reviews regarding CIVIL engineering discipline, witnessing Factory Acceptance Tests, as required and participate in safety and quality audits and field reviews as required.
- Establish discipline QHSE plan and defines discipline objectives, team role, execution plan, surveillance plan, work process in accordance with project objectives and TEN Procedures
- To be fully familiar and up to date with the latest Industry standards and ensure compliance of projects design with these latest standards.
- Exposure to Shell DEP`s and other standards is essential.
- Exposure to preparation of proposal deliverables such as CTR, MS, Third Party scope of work, TBE etc.
- Drive installation quality, working with Construction contractor and Construction team and provide technical support for site construction/commissioning of CIVIL Equipment where applicable.
- Is responsible for performing activities and issue deliverables in accordance with project schedule, quality, contractual requirements, and execution plan.
- Is responsible for establishing team organization and managing mobilization plan in accordance with Budget and Workfront in coordination with head of the department.
- Supervise internal/External subcontracted engineering activities as per project execution and surveillance plan.
- Checks or/and approves discipline deliverables.
- Manage and control schedule and progress.
- Control man/hours budget and identifies internal change request E ICR).
- Identifies technical risks and opportunities to cope with project objectives in terms of cost, quality, and schedule.
- Consolidates and ensures awareness of input and output data for the discipline.
- Coordinates with other engineering, process/HSE disciplines, procurement, construction, subcontract, commissioning, and project supports for the discipline activities, arbitration (Engineering strategy, contractual topic, cost and schedule).
- Identifies optimized technical/economical `fit for purpose solution in coordination with other disciplines. Validation (and arbitration as necessary) by project Engineering Manager.
- Manage the team to ensure that all team members are aware of assigned work and comply with objectives and TEN work process.
- Monitors discipline KPI.
- Performs reporting to discipline manager/Project Management.
- Represents the company towards clients, partners, subcontractors, Vendors, and third parties for technical subjects in his/her discipline supported by Project Engineering Managers as necessary.
- Manges and controls the material quantities with regards to price sheet budget and proposes mitigative/proactive actions to control the quantity increase.
- Ensures issuance of the MTO report for the discipline.
- Ensure issuance of MTO report for the discipline.
- Supports the discipline manager in implementation of the digital initiatives in the project as required from time to time.
- Establish project close out and lesson learnt.
Education, Skills & Experience
- Bachelors degree in civil engineering. Preferably post graduate.
- Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in FEED, Brown Field Oil and Gas related CIVIL / Structural Design and Engineering
- Performs as a professional CIVIL engineer for projects and plant modifications from Front End Development through execution and start-up. Past work experience should cover the wider spectrum of the civil engineering discipline (e.g. concrete, steel structures, geotechnical, site preparations, drainage systems, buildings, etc.)
- Design, selection and specification of onshore structures
- Experience in the Middle East, knowledge of GTL and LNG are an advantage.
- Proven leadership skills and strong personal drive in order to meet deadlines and specific targets.
- Team player with clear evidence of working with others to deliver goals. Self-motivated and willing to take responsibility.
- Strong, and demonstrated, personal commitment to HSSE Leadership and experience in managing HSSE throughout all project phases
- Experience with project management
- Ability to work and manage in a multicultural environment
- Good leadership skills
Reporting line:
- Reporting hierarchically and operationally to the Head of Civil Department.
