Credit and Trade Loan Analyst

Accountable to perform credit assessment and trade loan activities by calculating and evaluating trade loans, preparing and submitting credit and trade loan evaluations for approvers, evaluating, monitoring and reporting trade finance performance. Further, accountable to perform analysis for the designated customers portfolio to ensure trade debtor balances are tightly controlled and credit risk appraisal of new and existing customers is carried out adhering to the Credit Policy. The job holder should have a deep understanding of Castrol Credit Policy & Trade Loan policies and of the relevant systems and tools and manage/balance diverse demands from Stakeholders within multiple countries.

In this role You will:

  • Perform regular and event driven Credit Assessments and Trade Loan evaluations based on the Credit Policy
  • Perform Customer Due Diligence to understand the financial and commercial prospects of the customer
  • Work together with sales to collect the vital financial documents from the customer for a timely evaluation of the creditworthiness
  • Prepare, validate & submit trade loan proposals with credit appraisal for approval and ensure that they are aligned with BP financial guidelines
  • Trade Loan and Credit Exposure Management, Monitoring, Forecasting
  • Identify risks related to trade investments and take actions together with the relevant collaborators.
  • Evaluate and articulate the underlying delivery of actuals vs. the target (volume and Gross Margin) on a monthly basis and take action as per the Contract.
  • Monitoring of credit exposure regarding credit limit and overdue items, delivery of Key Performance Indicators
  • Understand the business and drive execution by keeping close contact to sales by attending and/or organizing regular meetings on Trade Loan and Credit Assessment reviews and be a business partner to balance the risk and enable the business
  • Perform various regular reporting activities and ad hoc reporting's in an accurate and timely manner; Reconcile and validate Trade Loan accounts and be able to analyze and explain Trade Loan P&L impact.
  • Partner management with all relevant people inside or outside of Credit cross GBS and cross business in Europe.
  • Compliance with all relevant Trade Loan, Credit and Customer Charter Policy, and QMS/EMS systems in GBS.
  • Identify risks / issues and mitigation plan related to Credit and Trade Loan processes.

What You will need to be successful:

  • Proficiency in English; Proficiency in French is an advantage
  • Strong knowledge in finance, accounting and credit analysis area.
  • 2+ years of Commercial Evaluations, Credit Risk or Finance performance experience in an international environment
  • University Degree or equivalent experience preferred (in Economics or related fields) or other Graduation in Economics (High School)
  • Ability to deal with complex situations while maintaining the right balance of customer and business focus to drive performance improvements
  • Ability to produce consistently high-quality information within tight deadlines.
