Wood is currently seeking a Lead Piping Designer for our Sarnia, ON office within the Oil, Gas & New Energies Canada business unit due to growth in our business! We are looking for a leader in the industry who is motivated, energetic and has a strong knowledge of piping design and processes.
Our projects team has a long history of delivering some of the biggest and most complex projects in the Canadian oilsands, along with associated pipelines and refinery infrastructure. Wood has a strong presence in the energy transition supporting the rapidly growing decarbonization and renewables industry in Canada and across the globe.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Communication with clients
- Lead small projects.
- Create and develop 3D model using various piping software.
- Create moderate to complex Layout of areas and modules.
- Modeling large equipment
- Reviewing and comment on vendor information
- Adhere to industry codes and standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Engineering design and drafting technology diploma or related technical diploma or certificate.
- 10+ years of experience in piping design and layout experience.
- Extensive experience working with specific codes and standard practices in the Oil and Gas industry.
- Excellent knowledge of 3D software that could include AutoCAD Plant3d, CADWorx, S3D or E3D.
- Previously project experience in Upstream Oil Sands is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to provide and manage status updates and provide necessary recommendations.
- Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship.
