Our Energy Management team in Montreal, QC is looking for a senior Hardware Design Engineer.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of talented professional and be a part of multi-year, multi-million Euro project in its initial phase!

What will you do?

You will work closely with other R&D engineers and be accountable to develop electronic hardware for products such as Room Controllers and Environmental sensor devices to ensure adequate performance, quality and reliability of the product as well as compliance to specific ratings, product specifications, agency and standards requirements.

  • You will lead the electronic product design in a cross functional team and p erform the integration of subsystems and subassemblies in conjunction with innovative design & product development.
  • You will have the opportunity to t ake ownership of hardware development through specification and selection of electrical and electronic components, simulation /modeling, testing and validation.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies, in the electronics and environmental sensors industry, applying this knowledge to drive innovation
  • Develop electrical schematics, layouts and wiring diagrams
  • Perform integration of subsystems and subassemblies in conjunction with innovative design, product improvement, field, and production problem/resolution
  • Provide support to test engineers and industrialization group
  • Communicate mechanical requirements
  • Oversee product price study for meeting Design-to-Cost targets for competitiveness
  • Provide support for troubleshooting all system related issues
  • Ensure cross-functional collaboration (purchasing, manufacturing. quality assurance, etc.) and be involved with new product development process
  • Gain a detailed knowledge of HVAC systems and architecture
  • Support the team in knowledge management and continuous improvement activities
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or other relevant technical disciplines from an accredited university
  • A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in a R&D environment, and have completed at minimum two full-design cycles during the last 3-year period
  • Demonstrated experience in development of industrial equipment such as electronic controls, sensors, and HVAC
  • Experience in circuit theory and PCB design principle, FMEA and Reliability engineering
  • Experience in elaboration of electronic controls and electrical schematics and electronics agency and standard requirements
  • Knowledge of ECAD application: Cadence (preferred) and Altium
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Excellent fault-finding, critical thinking & problem-solving skill
  • Ability to travel domestically and international - up to 10% of the time
  • French Intermediary
  • Good at oral & written communication in English to be able to communicate and collaborate with stakeholders based in China and Europe
