Your role and responsibilities

Do you want to make own impact for the Finland carbon neutral targets? Approximately 70% of Finland electricity is consumed in electrical motors. Energy efficient motors and drive control play major role towards the net zero goals. Join our market leading company and our team responsible for the Motors and Drives and be part of the Energy Efficiency Movement. We are now looking for an Application Engineer at ABB Oy, Drive Products division in Pitäjänmäki, Helsinki. In this role, you will have the opportunity to design and develop solutions for customers and help customers in their technical related problems. Each day, you will work directly together with customers to achieve best possible solutions for each case. You are a part of NEU OEM hub that delivers solutions and handle customers cases in Northern Europe. You have also a possibility to work together with other similar ABB hubs in Europe. The work model for the role is: hybrid #LI-hybrid You will be mainly accountable for: • Developing OEM specific solutions together with local sales (region Northern Europe) • Developing solution-based software • Developing solution/concepts in close collaboration with customers • Documentation of the solution • Onsite and aftersales support for dedicated OEMs • Sharing solutions and application knowhow within the global OEM community You will join a talented, high performing team, where you will be able to thrive.

Qualifications for the role

• Enhanced technical knowledge for drives
• Established technical background for PLC, motors, programming skills, especially IEC 61131
• Ability to demonstrate your experience in taking technical ownership for developing a solution with the customer
• B.Sc. in engineering or a similar degree
• You are at ease in communicating in Finnish and in English, both written and spoken
• Good understanding of the electrical design of a machine is beneficial
• Enhanced knowledge in functional safety is a benefit
• DC/DC and DCT technology understanding is an advantage
• Motion application knowhow and understanding of fieldbus technologies are beneficial
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and you enjoy collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
