We are looking for an experienced and motivated Project Marine Superintendent to join our team at our office in London on a Contract Basis.

The Project Marine Superintendent (Cargo barges, Tugs, Anchor Handlers, Supply vessels, Light Construction Vessels, Construction Vessels, with or without DP capabilities) provides Marine expertise to the Operations department and to the Project.

As such, the appropriate candidate is responsible:
  • To update Subsea7 requirements for all kinds of chartered 3 rd party vessels (requirements from class/flag, from Subsea7 group and from various customers)
  • To coordinate implementation of Subsea7 Marine and Crew requirements for all Subsea 7 vessels and chartered 3 rd party vessels (requirements from class/flag, from Subsea7 group and from customer)
  • To follow up and lead improvements to standard operating practises related to Marine activities.


The Project Marine Superintendent is for Subsea 7-GPC organisation the Marine EXPERT

What will you be doing?
  • Develop and update working processes associated to all Marine activities to be done during tenders and projects execution phases, for the operations department.
  • Develop and update construction Standard Operating Procedures for Subsea7 GPC organisation, from a marine aspect, in coordination with VOM and POM
  • Contribute in creating and maintaining a positive HSE culture within Subsea 7 and 3rd. party vessels chartered for the project
  • Ensure that HSE and Quality are fully embedded in the actions taken onto all vessels assigned to the project.
  • Ensure that Security Plan, if required, is in place to cope with local risks
  • Act as Project Marine expert, and perform the following tasks which include but not limited to:
    • Single point of contact between project and Offshore Resources to ensure marine readiness of the vessel assigned to the project;
    • Carry out desk top reviews of Client Marine specifications, during tenders and project execution, and issue, follow-up and close out any derogation request, with the Vessel's owners and marine specialists (Subsea7 OR & third-party vessels).
    • Develop specific MRF, describing the Marine spread requirements for the project and follow-up the selection process with chartering department.
    • Review & agree third party vessels selection before charter, in coordination with POM & chartering department.
    • Perform and coordinate vessels inspections by third party MWS, audits and trials as part of the Vessel assurance process, on behalf of the project.
    • Follow up all vessels, and marine units involved in the project operations, the inspection, audits and trials on behalf of the project, with OR and SCM Chartering department.
    • Develop a follow-up tracker sheet, of all inspections & audits, and ensure the issue of relevant report, and that all findings are closed on a timely manner.
    • Liaise with the client for the marine spread inspections, audits and trials, and agree on solutions to close desk top review and inspection findings, with the aim of acceptance of the marine spread.
  • Be the Marine EXPERT to support resolution of any marine technical issues and findings on vessels during the project execution (Subsea 7 fleet and third-party Vessels).
  • In case of incident involving Marine activities, on Subsea 7 Vessels and Third-party Vessels, lead on behalf of the project, all investigations, identification of findings and implementation of improvement/changes, with relevant authorities - Subsea7 OR and third-party vessels technical specialists.
  • Update the third-party vessels database with all specifications, audits, certificates Update and follow up the use of naval spread with the marine log coordinator to determine precisely future needs
  • Attend and carried out the Vessel crew familiarisation & Project kick-off meeting with Vessel's management team.
  • Attend Project Operations debriefing and Lessons Learned session, and update the Marine standard documentation, when required.


What experience would we like you to have?

Qualifications: Minimum Master or Chief Engineer certification (STCW II/2 or III/2, valid or expired)

Experience: Minimum 5 years seagoing experience in senior rank on offshore vessels. Demonstrate recent experience of marine auditing.

Knowledge: current marine legislation, vessel type being inspected, technological advances in vessel/equipment, standard charter parties (BIMCO,...) and IMCA guidelines.

Based in Head-Office within Operations department and within the project organisation and regular missions on site (Logistic marine bases & offshore on working sites)
