PROJECT CONTROL ANALYST - Renewables

Within the ENGIE Group, the Renewables Global Business Unit (R-GBU) develops, finances, builds and operates solar, wind, hydropower and battery storage assets worldwide. We count 4,000 employees and more than 50 nationalities across 20 countries. With an installed capacity of 42 GW across 4 Operational Areas, the R-GBU ambitions to reach 50 GW of installed capacity by 2025 and 80 GW by 2023.

In the Global Industrial Platform at the R-GBU headquarters, the PMO Department focuses on the safe delivery of construction projects, on time, on budget and with the expected quality and reliability, in a context of strong acceleration of construction activities for the GBU. The department drives the standardization and industrialization of Project Management practice and tools across operational entities and monitors the performance of project execution to steer improvement action plans at GBU scale.

The PMO Department is looking for a Project Control Analyst to work directly with the Department Manager in following the portfolio of projects in execution, in driving improvement actions on the global performance monitoring systems and in reporting to the Executive Team and the organization on the status and performance of the construction portfolio.

Responsibilities

Monitor the global construction portfolio and measure construction performance

The Project Control Analyst will take over the daily management of the construction portfolio monitoring systems in close collaboration with the PMO Department Manager. He/She will work on the continuous improvement of the systems to deepen performance insights, save time with task automation and expand the sharing of information with a close eye on access management in regard of confidential information.

  • Manage the project reporting information flow from the collection of source data (PMs/PMOs in the operational entities) to the delivery of consolidated portfolio information to the Executive Team, the Group performance systems, Finance, the Global Platform, etc.
    • Coordinate the timely report of project key data by the PMOs in each operating entity
    • Issue the quarterly execution portfolio report to the Executive Team meeting
    • Work with the R-GBU business data team to improve and expand performance monitoring dashboard for the global portfolio
    • Coordinate with the global asset management team the handover of new assets in the renewables generation fleet
    • Report the R-GBU construction performance to the Group in preparation of financial communications


  • Monitor the compliance of the construction portfolio under the R-GBU management system together with the Project Portfolio Managers of each region (AMEA, Europe, Noram, Latam)
    • Monitor the key stage gates of each project as per the R-GBU project management process (handover from business development, construction readiness, commissioning readiness, handover to operation, project close out) and log the pass/fail status and supporting documents
    • Gather and share the key project documents (project plans, schedule, contracts, monthly reports)
    • Manage and improve the corresponding monitoring dashboard


Support the PMO discipline leads in the performance analysis of project execution

Support the PMO discipline leads (project management, planning & schedule, cost estimating) in their analysis of the R-GBU performance in delivering projects on time, on budget and with the adequate level of contingency.

  • Leverage the consolidated execution data to guide and substantiate the portfolio performance review and the analysis of main deviations on time and cost and of contingency levels
  • Identify opportunities for improving the performance measurement framework and implement them in the monitoring systems
  • Support in the drafting of synthesis notes on diagnosis and recommendations for performance improvement


Experience and skills

  • One or two previous work experiences, ideally in the renewables industry - Compatible with the Group's graduate program
  • Strong analytical and synthesis skills, orally and on paper
  • Fast and hands-on with information and data systems (PowerBI, SharePoint, Excel, VBA), autonomous and proactive in finding fixes and improvements
  • Fluent English mandatory, Spanish is very appreciated, other languages of the R-GBU's geographical footprint are an asset.
