Who You Are:

We are seeking a candidate with a strong positive attitude toward customer service to act as a Certified Dietary Manager. This person will have a genuine interest in geriatric care and be able to motivate while maintaining relationship with staff and residents. The right candidate will always strive to do the best job possible, to be creative and to work towards accomplishing facility goals.

SUMMARY:

Position is primarily responsible for the daily washing and drying of laundry (including personal garments, facility and residential linens) and other laundry in a manner that will not damage either machines or contents. Additionally, this position may be responsible for occasional housekeeping responsibilities.

Essential Functions

Washes, dries and folds resident laundry, as required, housekeeping mops and rags, etc. in a manner that will not damage equipment or items being processed.

Sorts garments and contaminated linens, pre-rinses, treats and bleaches as necessary.

Responsible for the proper operation and care of laundry equipment. Maintains a clean laundry work area and equipment. Reports equipment malfunctions and/or damaged linens to the Executive Housekeeper.

Maintains inventory of facility linens and related laundry supplies. Marks items, as necessary.

Informs Executive Housekeeper of any supply shortages. Reports all infractions of state and federal regulations by company to the Executive Housekeeper or other appropriate personnel. Attends all in-services and meetings.

Provides support for cleanup of leaks, spills, floods, fire, etc.

Maintain work area and keep the department in compliance with OSHA safety standards.

Effectively communicates both verbally and in writing.

Demonstrates the community hospitality promises towards residents, families, associates and vendors.

Qualifications

1. Must be able to read, write and follow written and verbal directions.
2. High school education or GED preferred, but not required.
3. Position requires a minimum of one year experience in laundry operations, preferably in a hospitality or health care environment.
