The Crude Trader will work with a team of global crude traders to develop and execute crude oil trading opportunities to supply our refineries and trade for profit, both regionally and globally, as part of our Global Trading Team.
Responsibilities May Include
  • Consulting with Supply to determine refinery requirements, and developing optionality in crude slates
  • Working with traders in our London, Calgary, and Singapore offices to develop and implement trading strategies
  • Negotiating with counterparty traders to execute crude trading deals
  • Trading speculatively in physical and paper crude markets to enhance profitability
  • Developing and maintaining counterparty relationships to expand our market presence and increase trading potential
  • Working with marine department and other logistics to optimize freight
  • Entering deal details into our Deal Capture System

Required Qualifications
  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3 or more years of trading experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Direct refinery operations support experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency in risk management, market analysis and operations
  • Ability to collaborate, share market intelligence, and work as a team

The Commercial organization works to effectively leverage assets and market knowledge to create additional value within the risk parameters of the Company. We do this by maximizing general interest profitability, enhancing return on capital employed by successfully partnering with the Refining, Transportation and Marketing functions to ensure Value Chain Integration. Our truck and rail fleets support our feedstock and distribution operations. Rail movements are provided via a fleet of more than 10,000 owned and leased rail cars. Truck movements are provided through numerous third-party trucking companies, as well as through our 100 percent-owned subsidiary, Sentinel Transportation LLC.
