Overview:

As a Senior Project Accountant, you will provide professional advice and guidance on financial, accounting, management accounting, tax, and related issues. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information related to projects and for leading complex, non-routine activities in compliance with established guidelines and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

Accountabilities - I:

  • Lead and ensure the successful delivery of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end divisional activities, adhering to established guidelines and procedures.
  • Handle complex, non-routine, and ad-hoc financial matters, providing expert recommendations and solutions where required.
  • Interface with internal and external clients to gather complex financial data, and provide advice on commercial/shareholder agreements, including constructing financial models for billing, cash calls, and budgeting.
  • Collaborate with Asset Accounting and Venture Controlling teams to ensure that financial close-outs and shareholder reporting accurately reflect the true financial position.
  • Review and prepare internal and external Gross Cost/Operating reports, analyze direct and allocated project/operating costs, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Provide detailed analysis for the monthly gross cost review with the CFO and address follow-up actions from meetings.
  • Update project summary reports, such as green books, well-wise reports, Internal Order (IO) vs Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), and cost tracker reconciliations.
  • Review project costs, invoices, and Service Entry Sheets (SES) for compliance with established processes and thresholds.

Accountabilities - II:

  • Analyze inventory movements and provide meaningful explanations to support financial reporting and decision-making.
  • Assist in resolving shareholder queries and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of project accruals and other accounting adjustments.
  • Prepare cash forecasts to ensure adequate funding for project requirements, manage cash call/billing statements, and analyze actual cash expenditures against forecasts.
  • Develop Work Plan and Budget (WP&B) inputs, validate headcount and expenditure phasing against project plans, and compile WP&B packs for management with detailed analysis and comparisons.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a Commercial discipline; or
  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline with an internationally recognized professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CA, CFA, CIMA, CMA, CPA).

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting and finance.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP FI/CO and experience with BPC, BW, and Project Systems.
  • Commitment to ensuring organizational compliance with financial control procedures.

Technical and Business Skills:

  • Proficient in written and spoken English.
  • Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in spreadsheets, databases, and graphic packages.
  • Experience with common PC software (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project) and specialized accounting software (SAP, BW, BPC, Projects System).
