What role you will play in our team

Imperial is looking for ambitious and highly motivated business students to join our Procurement Services Department (PSD). You will be working in a fast-paced team environment and have the opportunity to grow in the purchasing, contracting, and supply chain management of materials and services area while maintaining effective business controls.

What you will do

  • Purchase spot equipment, materials, and service requirements for multiple business lines
  • Negotiate pricing and terms & conditions directly with suppliers while working with internal stakeholders, seeking lowest total system costs and appropriate mitigation of supply and legal risk
  • Handle purchase order maintenance for processed orders
  • Provide client advice and guidance related to acquisition processes
  • Provide support in expediting material deliveries and resolving invoicing issues
  • Provide assistance with bidding activities
  • Perform SAP reporting and analysis on a regular basis
  • Support monthly reporting requirements
  • Support Inventory Counts at 3rd party locations if interested

About you

Skills and Qualifications

  • Candidates must be currently enrolled in Memorial University's Bachelor of Commerce (co-operative) program.
  • To be considered for employment, your most recent unofficial transcript(s) must be submitted with your application

Preferred Qualifications/ Experience

  • Supply chain/ procurement experience is preferred
  • A desire to learn, excel and create value
  • Effective interpersonal skills to interface with suppliers and business clients
  • Team player with problem solving ability, business acumen, and effective time management and communication skills
  • Work schedule: Full time position

Start Date :January , 2025

Work term : 4 months

Location : St. John's, NL

Eligibility to work in Canada
