JOB DESCRIPTION

NOV Energy Equipment (NOV Process Systems ) is seeking a highly experienced Project Engineering Manager, for Emerging Markets. This role is a critical part of the assigned Project Management Team and is the Tender/Project Manager's right hand. As Project Engineering Manager you will be accountable for all technical areas of the scope, providing technical advice and guidance to the project to meet the NOV and Client expectations, aims and goals.

You will be responsible for planning and executing the engineering work for dedicated projects, including all technical areas such as Process, Electrical, Instrument & Control, Telecoms, Mechanical, Piping-Layout, 3D modeling, and Structure. The types of EPC projects you will be involved in, typically have teams consisting of around 40-100+ people across disciplines. Project budgets may be in the region of 30M - 100MUSD+, depending on the scope.

This role is preferentially located in the Oslo, Norway, as this is our head office location. However as large parts of our organisation is located throughout the world, we will consider other locations within Europe.

Our Expectations:

• A thorough knowledge and understanding of project execution and the interlink between technical disciplines, the engineering sequence, procurement, and planning.

• It's expected that the PEMs to be good communicators and be proactive to resolve issues and challenges, identify improvement opportunities and contribute to a continuous improvement culture to maintain delivery of value at the fore front of project execution and secure efficiency on your project allocations.

• Co-ordinate and collaborate with other members of the Engineering Management Group and departments within NOV, such as BD, sales, and Life Cycle Services to further the value offering of NOV Process Systems

• In addition to your technical skills, you should take ownership and proactively follow up the projects you are responsible for.

• Maximize the tender winning chances by continuously working with BD&S, technology team, procurement, engineering, and management to optimize technical tender solutions and concept from handover from BD&S to submission.

To succeed in this role, You should

• Have a degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline with 5-10 years' experience in a similar role / level of responsibility managing multidiscipline engineering teams in EPC projects.

• Strong familiarity with the interfaces between engineering, procurement and fabrication of process/utility/topside modules and skids that consist of rotating & static equipment, piping, valves, instrumentation, and ancillary equipment.

• You enjoy managing the technical side of a project and solving detailed engineering problems, making prioritization as you go. You need certain amount of creativity and as Engineering Manager you can make informed decisions in sometimes changing and uncertain situations.

• You should be organized and be able identify priorities and key activities to meet both technical and commercial milestones, having a good commercial understanding is beneficial.
