Amentum is seeking a qualified Petroleum Specialist in our Solomons Island, MD location.

The Petroleum Supply Specialist is proficient in receiving, storing, dispensing, issuing, shipping, and accounting for bulk or packaged petroleum, oils, and lubricant products. Completion of Military Occupational Specialty 92F 114 course conducted under the auspices of the US Army Quartermaster Center and School or other Service/civilian equivalent training is required. Incumbent must be HAZ 11 certified and Accord Dangerous Routier (ADR) qualified.

Supervise and manage the reception storage and shipping of bulk or packaged petroleum products. Includes operating specialized pumping equipment. Selecting and submitting samples of petroleum-based products for testing. Performing petroleum and water accounting activities. Testing petroleum samples for contamination. Repairing and maintaining specialized equipment and being knowledgeable about facility safety and storage guidelines.

Orders, tracks, dispenses products to end users. Responsible for storage in accordance with Federal, State, and local policy. Knowledgeable in Federal EPA policy and procedures. Provide initial and follow up training. Performs other duties as assigned.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for extended periods throughout the day. Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands. Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders. May be required to lift heavy objects whose weight may exceed 50 pounds. Must be able to type using a standard keyboard to communicate through e-mail and various software applications. Will handle dirty parts and lubricants. Will be required to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). May be required to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, forklift, etc. Must be able to lift/push/pull minimum of 50 pounds. May work in maintenance shop or outside. Must be able to work in a shop where the environment is drafty, noisy, and dirty. May be exposed to extreme noise from operating equipment. Position may require travel.

Procedure Compliance - Each employee must read, understand and implement the general and specific operational, safety, quality and environmental requirements of all plans, procedures and policies pertaining to his/her job.

Maintains SDS library and Authorized user list (AUL).

Knowledge of Microsoft office, Word, Excel Power Point, SharePoint, etc.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Minimum two (2) years' experience in the petroleum industry.
  • Completion of Military Occupational Specialty 92F 114 course conducted under the auspices of the US Army Quartermaster Center and School or other Service/civilian equivalent training.
  • Must be HAZ 11 certified and Accord Dangerous Routier (ADR) qualified.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Must be able to obtain favorable security clearance.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • MOS 92F 114 or equivalent.
