Utah Valley University is seeking a Student research assistant for the Engineering department!

Summary of Responsibilities

Join an interesting research project focused on the development of advanced energy harvesting systems. As a research assistant, you will work on modeling, simulating, and experimentally validating the performance of wind and vibration-based energy harvesters. This role offers hands-on experience in applied mechanics, dynamic systems, and renewable energy technologies, providing a unique opportunity to contribute to impactful research. The position is anticipated to start in August 2024, with the opportunity to work through the Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 semesters.
Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications

  • Must be a current student at Utah Valley University (UVU).
  • Preference will be given to students enrolled in the Mechanical Engineering Program.
  • A minimum GPA of 3.0 (B or higher) is required.
  • Experience with Python, MATLAB, and/or Simulink is highly desirable.
  • Experience with SolidWorks and 3D printing is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential.
  • Previous experience in experimental work is a plus, but not required.
