Navarro & Wright Consulting Engineers, Inc. is accepting resumes for a Geotechnical Driller Assistant to support the drilling crew in the drilling operation. N&W provides civil engineering and related services for Transportation, Site/Civil Infrastructure, Municipal and Energy industry clients. N&W provides drilling services for geotechnical, environmental and construction projects. The successful candidate will:

• Assist Geotechnical Driller with soil borings, well installation, soil sampling, rock coring, and visual soil classification
• Drives medium duty trucks to various job sites as directed by supervisor.
• Haul supplies to and from the drill site
• Mixing drilling fluids
• Loads appropriate drilling sampling and well installation tools and supplies onto trucks or drill rigs as directed by supervisor.
• Performs preventative maintenance tasks as assigned by supervisors and prepares documentation.
• Performs miscellaneous maintenance duties in field or shop as directed by supervisors.
• Mechanical ability to do minor repairs
• Perform physical labor, shoveling, drilling debris, and transporting materials using ergonomically correct lifting techniques
• Ability to fill in for driller when qualified
• Knowledge of safety policies and procedures
• Maintain all certifications
• Maintenance/organization of vehicle tracking paperwork and/or digital files
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid PA Driver's License (CDL Class B or higher Driver's license preferred)
• Adhere to USDOT drug and alcohol requirements
• Must be willing to travel
• One year of steady working experience in construction or drilling
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds throughout the day. Work is generally physically demanding
• Work is outdoors in all weather conditions.
