You will join team meetings and be invited to Solar One internal and external events, providing you with broad exposure to Solar One's work and the opportunity to expand your professional network. You will receive training specific to the projects that you are working on from your supervisor, in addition to general training regarding solar technology, system design, policy, installation, and more.

As the Data Analysis & Solar Technical Assistance intern, you will assess the impact of our work and gain firsthand experience educating New Yorkers about the benefits of solar technology. The Data Analysis & Solar Technical Assistance internship will be focused on two main areas: (1) Data integrity and (2) Solar technical assistance for the New York City Accelerator program. The NYC Accelerator is a free resource provided by the Mayor's Office of Climate and Environmental Justice and is here to help our city's buildings become cleaner and more efficient.

Data Analysis: you will assist in the analysis, validation, and cleaning of solar opportunity project data. You will get an in-depth look into the information involved in creating solar estimates, system designs, and tax incentives. Additionally, you will get direct hands-on experience with CRM and Project Management software.

Solar Technical Assistance: you will support the Program Manager in providing solar technical assistance to all building types from market-rate to affordable housing projects. This includes designing preliminary solar PV arrays, estimating solar installation costs, project tracking, and learning how to present solar savings estimates to a variety of stakeholders (building owners, affordable housing developers, project managers, etc.). Your work will have a direct impact on our relationship with the NYC Accelerator.

This internship is a hybrid internship, with the flexibility to work at home and in-person at Solar One's office in Long Island City. There will be opportunities for interns to meet with their supervisor, other interns, and HCS team members. Additionally, there will be opportunities to attend events in New York City, such as visiting solar installations, forums, workshops, and team gatherings.
