Primary Responsibilities include:
- Manage traffic control personnel/equipment resources; to include involvement with hiring, termination, disciplinary action (as required) to support project and schedule needs for job locations in Fairfield, CA and Pittsburg, CA.
- Plan, organize, oversee, coordinate, and review the work of staff performing traffic control measures in field.
- Ensure compliance with concepts, techniques, and implementation of traffic control plans and techniques for installation, implementation, and removal.
- Read and interpret plans and specifications and implement them in the field.
- Work together as a team and to present solutions.
- Ensure traffic control measures are designed and implemented in the field to make the project as safe as possible for fellow workers, motorists, pedestrians, and general public going through the site.
- Oversee flaggers to ensure DOT/regulatory requirements are met.
- On-call during non-working hours for notification regarding a site deficiency or incident
- Manage all traffic control staff on site
- Complete all required monthly, weekly and daily reports
- Liaise with regulatory authorities at the site level to promote safety and assist to resolve any issues of non-compliance
- Manage and maintain traffic control personnel training and qualifications
Job Requirements:

- Previous experience in traffic control or construction environment desired

- Ability to prioritize and plan work activities to be effective and efficient
- Must be comfortable and effective working in an environment with changing demands, delays and responding to unexpected situations
- Proficient user of Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required; ability to maintain a high level of professionalism when interacting with all customers (internal/external)
- The TCM will support the locations of our operations in Fairfield, CA, and Pittsburg, CA. Shifts and travel may vary according to project demands.
- Other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift and/ or move 50 pounds or more on a daily and continual basis.
- Must be dependable and be able to perform physically demanding work in the elements.
- Ability to drive on a stop and start basis daily and continually.
- Lifting, placing of materials, standing, walking, turning, stooping, kneeling, crawling, reaching, crouching, speaking and hearing are required continuously.
- Close vision is required for some functions and distance and peripheral vision is required for safety.
