Your role and responsibilities

As Head of Product Management Team - Automation/PLC, you will be responsible supporting the creation and driving the implementation of a comprehensive offering strategy that includes products, solutions, and services. You will also play a key role in maintaining a balanced and dynamic portfolio, driving innovation, and delivering customer value. Additionally, you will lead the Product Management team, ensuring continuous development, collaboration, and excellence in line with ABB's core values and principles. The work model for the role is: #LI-Hybrid This role is part of the Center of Expertise within the Drive Products division in the Motion business area in Heidelberg. Main stakeholders are R&D, Engineering, Marketing and Sales. You will be mainly accountable for: • Playing a strong consultative role in collaboration with the Division Automation Product Line Manager to help develop the offering strategy for PLCs, HMIs, Engineering Tools, and Interconnectivity solutions, ensuring it aligns with the overarching business strategy and meets the strategic objectives of the Drives Products Division. • Taking primary responsibility for implementing the offering strategy, ensuring that all products, solutions, and services within the portfolio are aligned with the strategic direction and business goals. • Partnering with the Division Automation Product Line Manager to identify and seize both organic and inorganic growth opportunities, driving innovation with a strong emphasis on delivering customer value. • Leading and developing Product Management organizations in line with the ABB Product Management framework, ensuring consistent alignment with the broader business objectives. • Owning and driving the achievement of functional KPIs within Product Management, ensuring the competitiveness of offerings while supporting product development, market entry, and delivery. • Promoting collaboration with R&D, engineering, marketing, and sales teams to ensure that strategies are aligned and product launches are successful. • Fostering excellence within Product Management teams by encouraging continuous development of both people and processes, while upholding ABB's core values and principles.

Qualifications for the role

• You are highly skilled in driving results with a strong focus on execution, and you excel at aligning team efforts with strategic business goals. You have a deep understanding of automation technologies, including PLCs and HMIs.
• You have 12+ years of experience in sales, product management, business development, or leading teams/functions within the automation industry, with a strong focus on PLCs, HMIs, and related technologies.
• You demonstrate strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills, fostering continuous improvement and nurturing relationships across functions and levels within the organization.
• You are passionate about building a shared vision, promoting innovation, and driving continuous improvement while maintaining strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proven experience with a strong track record in leadership, team development, and strategic decision-making, alongside excellent communication skills in English and German.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% to support business objectives and collaborate with teams, customers, and stakeholders across various locations.
