These assignments support field operations in the areas of commissioning warranty, and operations and maintenance (O&M) of the expanding installed sites in the region.

Job: Full-Time
Location: Nationwide
Travel: 75-100% travel.
Compensation: Pay ranges $23 to $42 (depending on skillset, certification, and experience) per hour and eligible for overtime. Daily meal and incidentals per diem available when traveling for overnight work.
Relocation: Not available for this position.

Under the direction of Field Leadership, Field Tech receives and carries out work assignments from management and internal customers. These assignments support field operations in the areas of commissioning warranty, and operations and maintenance (O&M) of the expanding installed sites in the region.
Responsibilities
- Primary responsibility will be to perform a variety of technical assignments including but not limited to installation, operation, upgrade/rework projects, troubleshooting, testing, and maintenance of electrical equipment. Equipment may include but is not limited to solar inverter and/or BESS Systems, PCS, Batteries and ancillary equipment and/or other equipment assigned.
- Perform general troubleshooting and diagnosis under manufacturer maintenance and repair guidelines.
- As needed, support and perform pre-commissioning (with and without grid emulator) and commissioning of solar inverters and BESS systems within schedule and work plans
- Able to work away from home location for multiple days/weeks at a time.
- Complete test reports to Company and Customer standards and timelines.
- Verify and comply with engineering documentation standards and test procedures.
- Completes documentation in a timely and organized fashion.
- Own creation and submission of all field paperwork and documentation for full compliance with site documentation and project requirement.
- Demonstrate a continual effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively with other departments to provide a quality and seamless operation.
- Provide feedback to the engineering and project team on possible mechanical and electrical design improvements.
- Accurately describes troubleshooting sequences and procedures which they have observed.
- Identifies and documents basic mechanical and electrical issues and problems.
- Performs basic corrective maintenance.
- Communicate with Manager or other designee for effective problem resolution and transfer of pertinent information on jobs in process and complete.
- Maintain strong client relationships, prepare project estimates, expand project work scopes and assist in negotiating extra charges.
- Ability to walk through customers' sites, inspect problem(s) (such as DC array grid faults, inverter design issues, BESS systems-module/component, replacement parts) coordinate/work closely with other engineering, logistic, financial, and program management disciplines to maintain operations and/or report problem(s) to Sales, Project Management and/or Manager.
- Work with members of a team to effectively complete work assignment. Receive information from team members and/or leadership regarding customer needs and product requirements and utilize this information to effectively complete jobs.
- Maintain a neat and orderly work area; Observe all company, local, and federal safety rules, location and company best practices, and company and customer policies and standard operating procedures; Create/modify Field Service procedures for safety troubleshooting and maintenance if required; Serves as a safety second as needed; understands a safety plan.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Experience and Qualifications:
- High School diploma/GED and a minimum of 1 year of experience in a related field.
- Renewable industry experience and power electronics experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of various safety standards such as OSHA and any state safety standards; OSHA 10 Certification and NFPA 70e certification a plus; comprehend JSA (Job Hazard Analysis) and create and conduct an appropriate JSA
- Renewable industry experience and Power Electronics experience is desired.
- Must possess the ability to work with test equipment and hand tools as required.
- Able to effectively problem solve.

- Basic computer skills for data entry, looking up information, and/or creating reports; MS Office Suite
- Able to communicate oral and written communication skills; follow directions-written direction, oral direction, reading work orders and/or specs as assigned; work in a team environment and communicate with team, various departments, and/or Customers as business needs dictate.
- Customer Focused-able to meet deadlines, work on multiple projects, and produce a quality work product.
- For positions that utilize a company vehicle, will be required to have a valid driver's license.
