Mountain Engineering is seeking experienced candidates to support PG&E's Gas, Transmission, Routine and Wood Management Vegetation Programs. The GIS Mapping Analyst is responsible for managing geospatial data, from compiling and manipulating datasets to performing advanced spatial analyses. They design and maintain GIS databases and systems, create detailed reports, maps, applications, and visualizations to communicate analytical results, and utilize scripting languages to optimize GIS data pipelines and workflows. Additionally, this role provides GIS training and support to team members, fostering a collaborative and knowledgeable team environment. By integrating advanced geospatial insights into organizational strategies, the GIS Mapping Analyst plays a crucial role in achieving the organization's goals and success.

Role & Responsibilities
  • Compile, manipulate, and analyze geospatial data.
  • Design, develop, and maintain databases and systems of GIS data.
  • Create reports, maps, applications, and visualizations conveying the results of spatial analyses.
  • Utilizes scripting languages to refine GIS data pipelines and processes.
  • Provide GIS training or assistance to other organization members.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Forestry related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • Two years job-related experience (i.e., Utility Tree Crew).
  • OSHA 30 Hour Certification.

Work Location

The office location will be determined and strategically placed to cover the geographic service territory identified by the PG&E Representative.

Physical Demands
  • Sitting for long periods of time working at the computer. Travel may be required.

Work Environment
  • Typical office environment with adequate temperatures and lighting, low levels of noise.
