1. BASIC REQUIREMENTS
2. Qualifications:

  Engineering Degree, B.Sc. or MSc. in Civil / Structural Engineering.

1. Previous Experience:

A minimum of 10 and preferably 15 years of working in Civil/Structural Engineering with Consultant or an Operating Company as Project Engineer and will preferably include extensive experience on onshore oil field facilities.  Previous overseas experience will be an asset.

      Broad and firm knowledge of the requirements of the relevant industrial international Codes,

      Standards and practices, relating to structural design works.

      Should be experienced with the soil mechanics, site preparation, building materials and

      specifications architectural / structural design of buildings, utilities design of Reinforced Concrete

      and Steel structures, buildings, foundations for heavy and rotating equipment, roads, runways,

      harbour, drainage and water supply, water and sewage treatment etc.

      Preparation of Bid Documents, Scope of Work, Drawings, Specifications, Cost Estimate, Bid

     evaluation, Contract and Project Management.

1. Language:

Knowledge of Arabic is desirable, good knowledge and communication skills in English language are required.

1. Computer Skills:

Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is essential, practice and experience with Microsoft office project and structural design software applications such as STAD Pro and foundation programs are advantageous.

B. JOB DESCRIPTION

1. Prepare cost estimates and budgets.
2. Prepare scope of work, drawings, specifications and Bid Documents, for Civil projects.
3. Liaise and co-ordinate with other Project Engineers, Construction Coordinators, Safety and other Departments as required to ensure the integrity of the Bid package.

5. Review and approve detail drawings, calculations, material and method of statement submitted by Contractor.
6. Provide technical support to Field Personnel and Operations Departments.
7. Follow up Civil projects at Fields/Terminal according to projects requirement.
8. Ensure compliance with required Safety, Quality, Environmental and Technical Standards.
9. Become familiar with the contractual requirements of projects assigned to him. Follow-up technically and commercially the project execution, solve technical matters, which may arise during construction.
10. Coordinate with site Construction Coordination personnel through construction, commissioning and hand-over of the facilities
11. Participate or chair technical meetings as required.
12. Prepare Weekly and Monthly reports to Project Superintendent on all ongoing projects.
