- Implement approved A&D programs through Wellsite Management of Well intervention and workover rig operations.
- Ensure that operations are carried out in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner, in accordance with company policies and procedures, regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide input into the A&D program based on practical experience, technical expertise, regional knowledge, industry best practices for well intervention and abandonment.
- Support A&D Department staff in developing and implementing wellsite operating procedures, job safety analyses and A&D best practices.
- Work with site contractor and service company representatives to achieve safe, timely and efficient move-in, rig-up, rig-down and move-out operations.
- Evaluate A&D parameters, well information and wellsite data to determine whether operations are on track with program. Recommend operational modifications as needed to optimize A&D performance.
- Study well plug and abandonment performance and recommend areas for improvement.
- Provide on-site supervision of critical operations, such as access to pressure envelopes, wellhead seal repair, well kill, integrity diagnostics, completion recovery, section milling, perforation, wash and cementing, and all well control operations.
- Oversee well control activities, including installation and testing of blowout prevention equipment, maintaining pre-recorded well data, generation of kill weight mud schedules and weighting material requirements, conducting pit drills and implementation of shut-in and well killing procedures.
- Monitor all operational expenditures and contractor and service company performance. Assist in controlling plug and abandonment costs.
- Manage service contracts by monitoring and reporting on the performance of contractors and service companies. Ensure that their equipment is well maintained and properly operated, that personnel are competent and that operations are carried out safely and efficiently.
- Coordinate the use of existing and new technologies to improve A&D performance.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering preferred, or equivalent relevant experience of 15+ years.
- Minimum 15 years' experience in Offshore/Onshore Well intervention, workover and abandonment operations. Proven experience working in remote areas and dealing with logistics challenges. Caspian Offshore experience advantageous with Soviet Era wells under API & GOST standards.
