The Value Stream Manager plays a critical role by not only managing daily manufacturing operations but by also driving a continuous improvement roadmap, implementing new equipment, supporting new product development, and investigating customer quality issues to increase capacity, decrease lead time and make the company a fun place to work.

Key Responsibilities:

Major Challenges:
  1. Create a culture of collaboration within the direct and indirect teams.
  2. Use lean manufacturing, problem solving, and data analytical skills to meet the expected performance outcomes set by the operations director.
  3. Develop and drive a long-term continuous improvement roadmap to achieve the expected performance outcomes.
  4. Collect and analyze data to identify trends, variables, opportunities, and issues that impact the expected performance outcomes.
  5. Supervision and development of the directly reporting production team.
  6. Manage daily operations workflow and employees to ensure production schedule is met while meeting quality expectations.
  7. Interface with value stream team members including engineering, planning, quality and purchasing to resolve daily production issues and lead longer term projects.
  8. Recommend and lead acquisition of new or replacement equipment, major tools to meet the expected performance outcomes.
  9. Drive actions to resolve customer complaints with Quality
  10. Creating a culture of responsibility and ownership

  2. Driving improvements in daily operations while scaling capabilities and products
  3. Managing a high mix and high volume production environment
  4. Rapid fluctuations in demand with 12-14 week visibility.

Success in this role is measured by the following outcomes:

Technical Knowledge/Skills:
  1. Safety risk identified through job hazard analysis and 100% of projects completed on time.
  2. Improve lead time to ship 99% of orders on time.
  3. Decrease manufacturing time and budget to reduce cost by 50% in 3 years.
  4. Process improvement and detection to achieve Zero customer returns due to manufacturing quality.

Required Experience:

Personal Attributes:
  1. Bachelor's degree or higher in relevant discipline such as Engineering, Management, Logistics, Mathematics, etc.
  2. A minimum of 10 years working in a manufacturing environment and a minimum of 5 years with direct manufacturing supervision. A combination of achievements, and education may be considered.
  3. Proven experience in utilizing lean tools and project management

  4. Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
