Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Delivery Manager - Geospatial to lead our geospatial team in delivering high-quality Geographic Information System (GIS) solutions within an engineering consultancy context. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in GIS, Remote Sensing, GIS application development, LiDAR Data Analysis, specifically applied to Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) domain. The Geospatial Team Leader will be responsible for overseeing projects, managing a team of geospatial professionals, and ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of geospatial products and services to support our engineering consultancy services across the globe.

The Geospatial Team Leader will be responsible for overseeing projects, managing a team of geospatial professionals, and ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of geospatial products and services to support our engineering consultancy services across the globe.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership and Management:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of geospatial analysts and technicians to achieve excellence.
- Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement and professional development within the team.
- Assign tasks, set priorities, and manage workload distribution.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to team members.
- Identify and capitalise on emerging trends and technologies in the geospatial field to maintain a competitive edge.
Project Management:
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee geospatial projects from initiation to completion.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Engage with stakeholders and collaborate with our core engineering teams delivering solutions.
- Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders.
- Integrate geospatial data and analysis into engineering project workflows.
Technical Expertise:
- Provide technical guidance and support to the team in GIS, Remote Sensing, Spatial Analysis, Application Development, Customization and LiDAR data processing in AEC project context
- Develop and implement best practices, standards, and workflows for geospatial data management, analysis, application development, LiDAR data processing using latest software and development platforms.
- Stay current with advancements in geospatial technology and integrate new tools and methods into team processes.
- Apply geospatial solutions to engineering problems, including infrastructure planning, environmental impact assessments, and site analysis.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with the global Geospatial community, engineering teams and other departments across our global organisation, to understand project requirements and deliverables.
- Provide an update on latest trends in Geospatial world and their application in engineering consultancy domain.
- Represent the geospatial team in meetings, presentations, and discussions.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment.
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure the accuracy and quality of geospatial data and products.
- Implement quality control procedures and conduct regular audits of geospatial outputs.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Resource Management:
- Manage the team's resources, including software, hardware, and data.
- Identify and address training needs and opportunities for professional development.
- Optimize the use of geospatial tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness in engineering projects.
Business Development:
- Contribute technical responses to bids for our global teams.
- Contribute resource plans and costs to bids for our global teams.
- Build a strong network with engineering teams and other departments across our global team to identify opportunities for the team to get involved in new projects.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in GIS, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role, preferably within an engineering consultancy.
- Proficiency in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS - Pro/Online/Enterprise and suite of extensions, QGIS, FME, Utility Modelling) and remote sensing tools and their application in engineering consultancy like Land Development, Spatial CDE.
- Experience of integrating GIS and BIM in AEC, 3D data visualisations and VR
- Experience with programming languages (e.g., Python, R) for geospatial analysis.
- Knowledge of web GIS and spatial database management.
- Strong project management skills with experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with cloud-based geospatial services (e.g., AWS, Google Earth Engine, SCDE).
- Experience in developing and delivering training programs.
- Understanding of engineering principles and the application of geospatial data in engineering projects.
