Petroplan is recruiting for a Shift Manager, Liquefaction on behalf of a US-based LNG company, located in South Texas.

The Shift Manager will engage with a wide variety of stakeholders from multiple disciplines as well as contractors and vendors. This position is responsible for establishing and maintaining the personnel, processes, and procedures required for safe, reliable, and sustainable plant operations.

The ideal candidate will oversee efficient operation, start-up, and shutdown activities at a large-scale liquefied natural gas (LNG) production and carbon solutions facility.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Manage shift personnel and resources to meet safety and operational goals on time and with high quality.
  • Execute the requirements of the Operations Management System (OMS), including safe work systems, production management, knowledge management, and marine management.
  • Participate in commissioning activities, including P&ID verification, system checks, punch list management, and pre-commissioning procedures.
  • Coordinate the operations of various units, including feed gas pipelines, gas treatment, liquefaction, utilities, LNG storage, and loading.
  • Embrace change and support process improvements as the facility evolves through commissioning, start-up, and ramp-up phases.
  • Provide feedback to improve operational practices, safe work procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead by example in safety practices through regular walkdowns and safety observations.
  • Support digital and IT initiatives that drive innovation and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Serve as Incident Commander during emergencies, leading the shift response team in line with established protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with all facility policies and procedures.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Process or Chemical Engineering.
  • 5 years of experience with facilities using APCI C3MR technology.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent will be considered with applicable experience.
  • 10 years of experience in large-scale LNG operations.
  • 5 years of leadership experience in an LNG or gas processing facility.
  • Eligibility for Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
  • Expertise in permit-to-work systems.
  • Experience using operational software platforms such as CMMS, DMS, and LIMS.

** This position will entail work 12-hour rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, with the flexibility to work extended hours during critical plant operations (e.g., start-up, shutdown, turnarounds). Additionally, you will be required to follow commissioning schedules during the start-up phase of the facility.
