Job Overview

As a Jr. Project Manager with APTIM, you will work with the project management team to support oversight of all phases of program and project activities that range from small to large in value and a variety of scopes that include engineering, applied science, procurement, construction, and/or operations. Your responsible for supporting the oversight and management with the successful delivery of complex projects.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Assist with oversight of the project lifecycle, from initiation to closure.
  • Contribute to the development of project plans, including scope, timeline, budget, and resource allocation.
  • Work with project team on project objectives, deliverables, and success criteria.
  • Support in the coordinate and collaboration with stakeholders to ensure project goals are met.
  • Assist with monitoring of project progress and identify any risks or issues that may impact timelines or deliverables.
  • Assist with implementing effective project management methodologies and best practices.
  • Participate in client and team meetings, preparing progress reports and updates as required.
  • Support the handling of project documentation, including requirements, specifications, and change requests.
  • Assist in coordinating inspections and ensuring the project meets all required codes and regulatory requirements.
  • Assists with supervising daily activities of project personnel including technical and administrative support and ensures that deliverables are produced on schedule and within budget.
  • Represents the company to clients and maintains client relationships.
  • Understands relationships between work processes and the business.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's of Science in Construction Management, Engineering or Physical Science
  • Nuclear operations and maintenance field experience desired.
  • PMP certification is desired, or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Familiarity with DOE Order 413.3B (desirable).
  • Experience using Earned Value Management Systems using Primavera 6 or similar project management software is desired.
  • Experience in field of construction and/or D D.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain radiological qualifications.
  • Must be a US Citizen -- no dual citizenship.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.
  • Familiarity with business process modeling and process improvement initiatives.
  • Proficiency in using project management software.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience in product development or program development is preferred.
  • Familiarity with change management principles and practices
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Listens and communicates technical subjects to both technical and nontechnical audiences, flexes style to suit the needs of the audience.

Additional Minimum Qualifications:

  • Work will primarily be conducted in an office setting, with up 30% of work being in a field site and occasional exposure to seasonal weather.
  • Work hours may vary contingent on assigned project.
  • Employee will be required to sit, stand, walk, climb, bend, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and listen.
  • Clear vision and depth perception are also necessary.
  • Must be required to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be required to work at elevated heights or access small vessels, confined spaces.
  • Must have driver's license and insurance and be able to drive distances further than 50 miles.
  • Will be required to travel up to 30% to facilities in the assigned region and may be required to travel outside the assigned area, including but not limited to travel for temporary assignments, meetings, and training.
  • Must be able to pass U.S. Department of Transportation Drug Alcohol regulatory testing.
