Your role and responsibilities

For our Motion business in Turkiye we are currently looking for a Legal Counsel. In this role you are a strategic business partner who implement global strategy and advise management and business on legal and integrity issues relating to the relevant area(s) of responsibility to ensure full compliance with Group rules, as well as local legal regulations. In addition to the main task of supporting the Turkiye Motion business you will also support with different legal projects for MO in the EMEA region. This role will be reporting to the Cluster Lead Counsel SEU for the Motion business. Legal advice Legal support and advice to divisions, businesses and function organization in all domestic and international legal aspects, across a broad range of legal issues, in particular contract, commercial, competition and intellectual property law (may also include employment/labour law, dependant on country). Legal support in M&A transactions as required. Supervising and developing Contract Manager as indirect report. Contract drafting, negotiation & Risk management Draft, revise, and negotiate national/international contracts and Cyber and digital data contracts, including supply, work, distribution, service, consortium, and R&D agreements, as well as NDAs and software licenses. Manage ABB's risk review process in compliance with company policies, providing legal guidance and training. Develop legal forms, templates, and best practices, and collaborate on new business models. Company guidelines and instructions Identifies need for and implements new or updated Company rules based on local legislation and regulations. Provide guidance and training on the interpretation and implementation of ABB legal policies and procedures e.g. contracts, integrity, nuclear etc, and on applicable law External service providers & Dispute management Manages and liaises with and oversees use of external service providers, including external legal counsel ensuring compliance of Group guidelines and proper coordination with Procurement & Logistic. Management and supervision of engaged external law firms along quality and budget targets. Providing legal advice and managing dispute and litigation matters as directed, with the support of external law firms, if required. Supporting any approval process and preparing local Business dispute reports

Qualifications for the role

  • Bachelor's degree, (Preferably master law degree)
  • 3 years of experience, ideally within the legal department of a multinational corporation, preferably with expertise in digital and AI-related projects or contracts,
  • Fluent in English and Turkish,
  • Experience in Compliance and Integrity,
  • Strong communication, negotiation and decision-making skills,
