Schneider Electric Hub | Research & Engineering Center - Home & Distribution team

We are looking for an experimented Scrum Ma nager (or Scaled Scrum Master) , for Connected Offer LoB , part of Home & Distribution Division. We are developing and managing the end-to-end digital connected offer, with Hardware & Software, from Device to Could , included Apps! This Scrum Ma nager will be focused on the consolidation of different Software Squads , to ensure a full Customer journey , for Home Energy Management System League.

Scaled Scrum Masters are key leadership positions in a global organization and part of the Agile Excellence Chapter.

Role overview

Scaled Scrum Masters
  • G uide the league focusing on creating high-value releases
  • P artner with League Leader and Chapter Leaders to ensure strategy and execution alignment
  • A re key facilitators and primarily responsible for facilitation of League-level rituals & key events (such as PI planning, execution, as well as monitoring/reporting and driving project steering committees)
  • D rive continuous improvement by coaching the league's Squads and Squad members in Agile methodologies to maximize efficiency and self-improvement , and drive change management
  • I dentify, escalate, and help find resolutions to league
    C onsolidate scenarios and impact in term of Scope evolution (Risk, Delay, Cost, ...)
  • M aster Agile and Delivery processes, fine tune them to Squad needs (e.g., mixing Scrum & Kanban to manage maintenance & development) while providing tools and methodologies to accelerate Squad delivery


Responsibilites

Enable execution in alignment with the strategy and the backlog
  • Work with League Leader, Chapter Leaders, Finance controller and other stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment
  • Guide the League with respect to priorities and scope , focusing on creating high value releases, offer or system
  • Assist with decision-making by facilitating feature estimation by teams
  • Provide progress status and escalate impediments on a regular basis
  • Provide input on resourcing to address critical bottlenecks
  • Highlight and follow the adherence to guardrails, alerting the League Leader where needed
  • Consolidate Mitigation plan with Impact Analysis, and propose solution to the Product Owner

Identify and manage interdependencies
  • Map interfaces between Squads of the same league or different leagues & propose synchronization strategy
  • Support the League's efforts to continuously improve communications and relationships between squads
  • Ensure good synchronization between HW & SW Squad

Foster effective working relationship between Product Owners, Agile Squads and stakeholders
  • Ensure Product Backlogs are easily accessible and understood by the League's Squads and other stakeholders
  • Pilot the Sizing of the feature/product/system to develop (schedule, competencies, OpE x , CaP ex , . .), with the other Chap Leader, to help the PO to make prioritization, adapt/develop tools if needed
  • Identify techniques for product goal definition and effective product backlog management and coach the Scrum Masters and Squads to support adoption of best practice

Support the Squads
  • Ensure all Squads within the League have progress/performance metrics in place well understood
  • Create and sustain within the League an environment of trust and openness
  • Ensure all Squads within the League focus on excellence in product quality and customer value
  • Ensure all Squads within the League will learn from previous Sprint/PI (Sprint Retrospective, PI Retrospective, ...) seriously and puts a sincere effort in to follow up actions
  • Ensure all Squads within the League performance are transparent by setting-up relevant KPI's and visual management on backlog, risks, planning, etc. using suitable tools and techniques

Help remove impediments
  • Understand impact of roadblocks and implement effective risk response plans
  • Ensure all Squads within the League get necessary trust and support from Senior Management when necessary to work effectively
  • Ensure all Squads within the League are able to respond to required changes and new unplanned requests in an effective manner

Promote Agile values
  • Promote Agile values, culture and practices ; continuous improvement and challeng ing the status-quo
  • Enable all Squads within the League to improve efficiency and quality of deliverables by following Agile development best practices
  • Secure and promote the values of the selected framewor k, self- organization and self-management
  • Coach and mentor all SMs within the league

Other
  • Exposure of key league-level ceremonies (schedule, chair and drive PI events, demos and PSCs)
  • Produce, enforce, maintain and present league-level
  • Programme Plans and Timelines (including highlight reports and Gantt charts to clearly expose any risks/issues and dependencies)
  • Finance management (obtain and, where necessary, produce league-level financial forecasts, monitor actual costs and manage any deviation from budget)
  • Manage PPM for the portfolio


What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 10+ years of product or project management/development experience is a must
  • 2 years of programme management would be advantageous
  • Strong facilitation techniques
  • Ability to build and lead multiple Squads in a matrix
  • Promote Agile values, principle, and be able to help/support/coach
  • Outstanding communication, facilitation, negotiation, and coaching skills
  • Knowledge of an Agile Framework ( i.e. Scrum, Kanban), and knowledge of at Agile at Scale frameworks ( i.e. SAFe , Scrum at Scale, Nexus)
  • Planning and problem solving with product management and delivery Squads
  • Experience obtaining effort estimations and resource (bandwidth) management
  • Experience producing financial forecasts and managing budgets
  • Qualifications in PM are highly desirable

NOTE: This role requires occasional traveling | 2-3 times per quarter, mostly in Europe
