Join us a Senior Mechanical Engineer (Nuclear)
Location: Derby
Contract/Staff Position
Your future Team:
Your will be joining an Embedded Team as a Senior Mechanical Engineer. You will be responsible for Front End Engineering Design (FEED) activities across a range of engineering projects which will form part of the submarine's new build and development programmes.
Your Missions:
Develop effective solutions to engineering challenges
Evaluate performance, reliability, and safety of final products
Alter and modify design to meet customer requirements
Estimate budget and scope of project
Management of Risk and Opportunity
Prepare product reports and documentation

Qualifications
Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum of 5 years' experience within the nuclear sector
Understanding of mechanical design, safety case, operation, (eg precision, cleanliness requirements, damage prevention) and LfE capture
Previous experience with Technical Document Authoring, Substantiation and Presenting
Understanding of Nuclear Health & Safety I.e Understanding of safety case requirements (Safety Functional Requirements, Engineering Schedules and criticality prevention)
Previous exposure to Chemical Plant, Glovebox's and associated processes would be an advantage along with an understanding of Welding, NDT techniques
Familiarity with PLM systems (Teamcentre or similar)
Knowledge of engineering analysis tools (MathCAD, ANSYS, ABAQUS or similar)
BEng or similar professional qualification in an engineering related field
Additional Information
**Security Clearance**
This role requires the successful candidate to hold (or be able to obtain) a minimum of a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance.
Due to the nature of work this role will be delivering and for the protection of certain assets, the successful candidate has to be a sole UK national
