The position is part of the Mechanical & Civil Integrity (M&CI) Excellence Team and provides deep technical Civil Engineering discipline expertise as a Technical Authority (TA-2), leads the Civil Engineering community of practice (across MI Production Unit Teams), realizes the intent of internal and external standards, manages Civil Engineering graduates, assesses Technical Authorities, and provides a view of overall Civil Engineering work process performance.
Scope of Role
- Influence on OPEX/CAPEX budget
- No direct reports, but works closely with Civil Engineers, Material and Corrosion Engineers, PEI Engineers, Inspectors, Operations, Maintenance and Technologists. Discipline Accountabilities Health, Safety, Security, and Environment
- Visibly demonstrate Safety Leadership and set clear expectations through the organization.
- Know, promote awareness of & ensure compliance with legislative requirements and company Health, Safety and Environmental standards.
- Meet DEM 1 & DEM 2 requirements for Operate phase and ensure HSSE is embedded in technical solutions.
Stakeholder Management
- Actively participate in Civil Engineering related engagements with external stakeholder (Qatar Energy).
- Actively work with Civil Engineering TA-1, PTE and SMEs to leverage deep technical expertise, work process excellence and create partnerships to provide competitive, differentiating, integrated support that is driven by the client's business needs and priorities.
- Actively work with TAO to deliver their role to support the client to ensure Civil integrity, leveraging fully the scale, cumulative learning and Civil Engineering expertise in the company.
- Deliver sustainable improvement of Civil integrity and asset performance through smart application of novel technology and digitalization, leveraging replication of technologies from the Global Technology Catalog.
- Actively participate in regional Civil, Offshore and Pipelines (COP) and Mechanical, Materials and Integrity (MMI) community, and contribute to SIGN and w-IMS internal & external conferences.
Technical Expertise
- Provide deep technical expertise in Civil Integrity, driving process safety, reliability and production through strong assurance and proactive problem solving.
- Provide deep technical expertise, guidance, and coaching to Civil staff who in turn assure their assigned assets are operated in a safe, environmentally sound, and reliable manner in accordance with the license to operate and the defined safe operating envelope.
- Collaborate with M&CI Team Leads in identifying training needs and developing training plans for the Discipline to meet individual development requirements.
- Lead or assist with investigations of incidents and failures and ensure learnings are implemented.
Technical Assurance
- Provide Technical Authority assurance (TA-2)
- Accountable for definition and delivery of the Civil Engineering LOD-1 assurance activities.
- Prepare for and actively participate in Civil Engineering related LOD-2 and LOD-3 assurance activities.
- Content Owner for relevant specifications, Manuals, Procedure, Performance Standards within LMS.
- Act as contract holder for discipline related contracts (where required) and provide technical input/review.
Capabilities
- 15+ years of experience in Civil integrity management of onshore and offshore facilities in an operating asset
- Proven effectiveness in end-to-end Work Process Management and Continuous Improvement.
- Proven effectiveness in thought leadership, both technically and organizationally
- TA2 in Civil Engineering
- Proven effectiveness in forming trusted relationships with and in influencing stakeholders
- Ability to bring peer group together to align on decisions
