Your role and responsibilities
As a Product Manager, you will have the opportunity to manage the marketing of ABB's offerings to targeted market segments and manage the offerings throughout their lifecycle, in line with market needs and division/product group/business line strategy and targets. Each day, you will be accountable for the long-term profitable growth of an offer. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting business results by overseeing each step involved in the offer lifecycle including development, launch, go-to-market, maintenance, pricing, and profitability. The work model for the role is hybrid (work form the office and from home). This role is contributing to the Motion Service in Canada. The service product manager will work in close collaboration with our customers, Sales team, proposal team, execution team and the product manager to support and enable business growth. You will be mainly accountable for: • Leading the market intelligence analysis and identifying potential gaps in the portfolio, with respect to the competition and new market opportunities. • Owning technical and market specification for the offer and determining an offering business plan that supports sustainable growth while leading customer need and value analysis, planning the roadmap to create maximum value, and following-up on portfolio performance. • Leading the offer lifecycle management process, analyzing current offers, defining, and tracking performance metrics, and making decisions on offer obsolescence and end-of life to ensure that current and future market requirements are met to maximize their profitability. • Setting targets, monitoring offering costs and giving inputs to operations functions (e.g., Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Production) to maximize competitiveness and profitability. • Identify service opportunities from the installed base and work with the sales teams and partners to qualify those opportunities • Work with the customers and channel partners to support the registration of our drives and motors • Perform analysis of the Canadian drives and motors installed base • Maintain the data quality in our installed base system • May participate to customer site audit process to identify drives and motors installed base. You will join a high performing and dynamic team, where you will be able to thrive. This role will report to MOSE Service Division Manager and dotted line to the Service product manager team lead.

Qualifications for the role
- Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or related field. 5+ years of experience in product management, ideally within industrial automation, motion control, or a similar technical field. Prior experience working in service-oriented roles, especially within motor, drives, or automation industries, is a significant advantage. Proven experience managing full product lifecycle from concept through development to commercialization, with a focus on industrial or technical products.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of motion control products, such as motors, drives, and power electronics, as well as their service requirements and business models. Knowledge of industrial automation technologies, trends, and market dynamics. Familiarity with service contracts, predictive maintenance, and digital services within industrial settings. Ability to interpret technical documentation, analyze customer needs, and translate them into service-oriented product offerings. Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools and agile product development methodologies.
- Business Acumen: Strong business development skills with the ability to identify growth opportunities within the motion service market. Demonstrated experience in creating business cases, managing P&L, and delivering revenue growth. Understanding of ABB's service business models, including digital services, subscription services, and aftermarket support. Ability to work closely with sales, engineering, and service delivery teams to ensure product success.
- Leadership and Collaboration: Ability to lead cross-functional teams including R&D, engineering, marketing, and sales to drive product development and launch initiatives. Strong project management skills to ensure that product development aligns with customer requirements, timelines, and budgets. Experience working in a global matrix organization, with a proven ability to influence stakeholders across different functions and geographies. Strong customer focus and a track record of building and maintaining relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders.
- Communication and Problem-Solving: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment. Experience in customer engagement and product training, with a focus on providing innovative service solutions that address customer pain points.
- Industry Knowledge and Innovation: In-depth knowledge of market trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory requirements affecting the motion control industry. Passion for innovation, with a track record of introducing new ideas, digital services, or product enhancements that create added value for customers. Familiarity with sustainability trends and the ability to incorporate them into product and service strategies, aligning with ABB's commitment to energy efficiency and reduced environmental impact.
