Position Description

The Logistics Manager will be responsible for developing and executing the overall logistics plan/strategy for US operations. The job will consist of delivering competitive and affordable logistics services, identifying local logistics capabilities and developing logistics strategies, and implementing fit for purpose standardized logistics processes, systems and technology. A successful candidate must possess a detailed understanding of upstream Oil and Gas logistics categories, with experience in identifying and executing sustainable opportunities for value creation (cost savings, cost avoidance, revenue enhancement) and risk reduction, and a strong understanding of the proppant market

Responsibilities
  • Lead logistics procurement strategies. Identify and develop strategic partner carriers.
  • Drive the commercial strategy for the following categories:
  • Create a logistics network to ensure costs, footprints, services and locations meet the company’s strategic needs.
  • Develop and execute logistics contracting strategies for all scopes of logistics. After contracts are in place, maintain accountability for the appropriate contract and supplier management.
  • Responsible for tracking, reporting, and forecasting spend related to relevant categories.
  • Oversee complex category-specific sourcing strategy including development, implementation, evaluation, negotiation, preparation and execution of the contracts in support of operations.
  • Perform market analysis and leverage supply chain knowledge to articulate market trends that may impact internal stakeholders and category strategies. Develop a strategy to ensure access to materials and delivery of sand to frac locations for company operations.
  • Lead continuous improvement and cost savings programs.
  • Develop Supply Chain Logistics Management policy & procedures for compliance.
  • Serve as a commercial and technical subject matter expert having a detailed understanding of frac sand, trucking logistics, rail logistics, and international logistics

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field
  • 10-15 years of  logistics management with at least 3 years in international logistics for EPC projects.
  • Proven record in developing negotiation strategies and conducting supplier negotiations with the capability to meet targets, manage concessions, and deliver results
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
  • Strong supply chain background with the ability to interact with internal and external customers and suppliers


Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent networking and communication skills complemented by the ability to develop and sustain strategic relationships
  • Self-starter with a track record of strategic initiative development and management
  • Experience procuring logistics services for Oil & Gas or EPC industry
