Training Manager

Your role and responsibilities

We are looking for a Technical Trainer to join our Finland Marine Academy at ABB Oy, Marine and Ports Division in Vuosaari, Helsinki. In this role you will get to develop and deliver training that is available in our training portfolio. Training takes place at our own premises and customer facilities on demand, so the role requires occasional travelling. You will also participate in the business development of the Global Marine Academy and provide support to Global Marine Service centers. You are a natural communicator, enjoy working with others, and adapt well to changes. You will be mainly accountable for: • Delivering training courses, developing training material and training equipment • Participating in the development of more efficient and customer-friendly training solutions • Providing support for customers and the team worldwide • Participating in training product development • Assisting the Training Manager when needed

Qualifications for the role

  • Previous experience providing training to end-customers is a requirement for this role, ideally related to marine industry equipment
  • In order to succeed in this role, you will need to be interested in competence development and marine training delivery
  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Engineering or other relevant educational background, ideally related to marine industry
  • Fluent written and spoken English skills
  • Knowledge of the purpose and function of the main components in marine electrical propulsion systems is an advantage in the role
  • Customer-focused mindset as well as interest in solving technical problems
  • Excellent presentation skills; a strong vision for developing training material and delivering training courses
